Thanksgiving, the start of the Yule Season!
By: HOLLAND Date: November 27, 2019, 7:08 pm

In my family, Thanksgiving was the start of the Yule Season.
Unlike last Christmas Season, where I spent my time in the
hospital recovering from a throat dissection because of cancer,
I'll seek to enjoy more this holiday season. Wishing you all a
wonderful Thanksgiving and upcoming joyous Christmas!

^ I was delivering pizza about two weeks ago and was amazed to
see someone already had a Christmas tree up. I didn't get a
close look, but my guess was it was not a real pine. A real
pine wouldn't last that long. It's okay with me if people want
to do that; but I think I'd get tired of it if I started too
early.

I would get tired of it too if the holiday season starts too
early. I think that for my family, that I grew up in,
Thanksgiving was the start of the Christmas season because there
was the thankfulness for family that seemed to link the two
holidays together. Thankfulness seems to lead to gift giving.
My family was not religious but always seemed to be on the
threshold of understanding that God was to be thanked and should
be present in both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I set up Christmas decorations tonight. They are few but are
very beautiful.
I've set up a small thirty-year old ceramic Christmas tree with
a low wattage high intensity electric bulb in my kitchen window.
I put a heavy glass Church figurine with it's light and a
nativity figurine in my front room. I don't think that I'll be
setting up any more decorations. What I've set up is very
cheerful.
I don't decorate very much for this season. It goes back to my
theological bent which is more austere than others. What I've
done shall provide a joy for the season. I wish you all
Season's greetings. :D
