       The Shift: 70's
By: paralambano Date: July 13, 2019, 2:42 pm

Okay. So, the 70's apparently happened and there was a shift in
tone from the 60's. The latter was tuneful, perhaps more naive
and such a wonderful decade of melody. So too the 70's but it
seems to me more serious for the first part. What a decade.
I'd like to start with what many music critics say is one of the
finest evocative recordings of the mood of the times and one of
the finest recordings ever. The artist was a 60's hit-maker but
got "down" in the most real way with his groove in the 70's.
Please feel free to add here.

This last one here is magnificent, sublime. Mainliner to the
       soul.

The 70s were a good time musically though a bad time for me
personally. At that time I discovered how much political
liberty that one thought one possessed, was actually empty of
       meaning. So how it goes.
Here is a good song of the period:

       Holland - ^
Thanks for your contribution. Ya, I think that the 70's were a
more sobering decade. Things seemed to get some heavier but as
always there was the backlash to the heavier-ness with some
escaping through disco and other forms. Anyway, Fleetwood Mac.
Great choice for an iconic 70s band. Here's my favourite of
       theirs. It's a love swamp!:

And so . . . . industrial too. You too could have done it
with some talent, aviators, and denim!
       No, not BLT!
Out from the Guess Who, one of the great rock raconteurs who I

encyclopedic knowledge of rock, I give you Mr. Randy Bachman and
BTO, my 70's 450 turbo-charged, gas guzzling imaginary engine
growls for Bachman Turner Overdrive, ladies and gentlemen!:
       Let's get real 70's style :)!
