^^^Thanks, Kerry, for posting this. I've always liked Jim
Reeves. His music reminds me of my youth, when I was in Junior
High School and spent my weekends hiking in the Judith Mountains
around Bald Butte. My family used to listen to that period's
music, which included him, on the radio while we were
vacationing at a cabin at the foot of that butte. I used to
walk the hills perpetually at that time. Thanks for the moment
       that recalled the memories . . . :)

I love this song: Peace in the Valley.

And this is one of my favorites songs ever: God Be with You. I
think he does it so reverently too.

^^^Thanks, again, Kerry, for sharing these songs of Jim Reeves.
For me, it brings up the past when I was at my grandparent's
cabin at the foothills of Bald Butte in the Judith Mountains of
Montana. The songs conjure up memories of the deer and horses
outside the windows of that cabin in the early morning, the wind
roaring through the pines on the slopes about that cabin, the
hawks soaring on the air currents at the base of the butte, and
the silence that bespoke of the divine silence, the silence in
which God speaks in his wordless Word.
Jim Reeve's voice seemed to speak of the timber of who he was, a
timber that was congenial to the timber that I could see swaying
in the wind. In the beauty of that place there was majesty, the
majesty of nature, and the majesty of the hidden God that
wordlessly spoke, even thundered, in the silence.
Thanks, Kerry, for sharing Jim Reeves . . . :)

At the time of this posting, night is coming on and the cool of
the evening. Temperature here was around 100 degrees during the
day and so we are all relieved that the night and its cool air
is coming on. As the shadows darken and the street lamps have
come on, I'm thinking of the past, of some fifty years ago, of
my times in the mountains in central Montana.
I have two rabbits in the yard, both wild. The neighborhood
that I live in in Great Falls has been privileged by their
presence. They have brought back the past when I regularly
walked the woods. It has brought back the music of that period,
such as Jim Reeve's "Four Walls". I hope you all like it.
