Scripture doesn't lie. Gog and Magog will be a major player in
the last war, and its looking like its going to be able to live
up to that scenario. Thankfully, when all seems lost,
salvation will come, not in healing from heaven (although it
could be seen that way), but in heaven's armies showing their
strength to us mortals. It will be like the drowning of
pharos's army showing God's power to the ancient people.

The Iranian missile question is surely interesting since
President Obama broke with all precedents and cut a deal with
Iran regarding their nuclear program. Why make a deal with
them if you think they want to have nuclear bombs and want to
attack Europe with missiles? Why not negotiate with Iran about
the missiles too instead of installing American or NATO missiles
so close to the Russian border?
Like it or not, we should also see how the EU has consistently
alarmed the Russians by peeling off countries which were
traditionally allies with Russia to bring into the EU? We can
say correctly that the EU improved matters by insisting those
countries become more democratic; yes, it did encourage more
democracy; but it also alarmed Russia who sees those countries
as buffers in case someone in Europe decides to attack -- and
history tells us Russia has been attacked by European countries
in the past. History also tells us Russia has never invaded
France or Germany. The deal cut between the EU and the Ukraine
back in 2009 certainly was seen by Russia as a threat.
Putin can spot a trend, but he also knows Obama is afraid to do
much. Obama drew his "red line" in Syria about poison gas; and
when Assad crossed it, Obama did nothing. Talk, all talk.
When Putin saw that, he knew he could get more aggressive
himself in Syria. Putin also knows Obama won't send the
Ukrainians the serious weapons they want. Obama is willing
to send a little this and a little that into Syria or the
Ukraine, enough to keep conflicts going but not enough to end
them. That is a dangerous ploy which keeps tensions building.
So the Russians now feel free to have their planes buzz
American ships.
However I see China as posing a bigger problem. Obama's
threatening and misguided policy regarding China has made them
more paranoid. They responded by becoming more aggressive.
Now they have refused to accept the verdict of the World Court
about their claims to the South China Sea. They are also
ratcheting up their military; and with their economy in
shambles, they may see a war as a distraction from their
domestic problems.
I was astonished when the Chinese announced they would ignore
the World Court. I seriously thought that American diplomacy
would have been twisting arms behind the scenes, promising them
rewards if they accept the verdict and threatening serious
sanctions if they defied it. So after the Chinese said that, I
was expecting to hear the Obama administration announce some
serious sanctions, but they said little or nothing. That told
me they had not tried the carrot-and-stick approach with China
to try to get them to abide by the finding of the World Court.
American foreign policy? There doesn't seem to be a real
policy. We were told by Obama before he was elected in 2008
that he would be ending the war in Afghanistan. Hmmm, we're
still there; and now he just said there will still be Americans
there when he leaves office. We still have people in Iraq.
And there are still prisoners in Guantanamo.
