Good. Maybe it will save him from being a killer one day.

I think his parents should also be charged with failure to
supervise a minor child. If more parents were held accountable
for the acts of their children, they might be better parents.
But think about this. If he had thrown a rock at me and hit
me, the cops might have arrested him; but he probably wouldn't
have been charged as an adult. That's teaching him it's okay
to throw rocks -- nothing that serious will happen to him. The
laws in this country are not to protect the average citizen --
they're being used to protect the cops and other government
       people.
It used to be the other way around: It used to be if I swore
at someone, I could be arrested for it; but if I swore at a cop,
I wouldn't be since cops were expected to be tougher than
       average citizens.
So perhaps the moral of the story is, if you are a child who
wants to throw rocks at other people, go ahead if you want and
nothing serious will happen unless you hit a cop with one.
A mentally ill woman once called me on the phone and threatened
to kill me. I reported it to the police, telling them I thought
she was mentally ill and needed help. They said they couldn't
do anything about it. They said they had no evidence she had a
gun that she could carry out the threat. I said, "I bet if I
called you and threatened to blow up the police station with a
bomb, you'd come and arrest me and wouldn't care if I had a bomb
or not." (I know that was right since they had arrested a kid
for calling in a bomb threat to a school -- and there was no
bomb. They didn't care if there wasn't a bomb. They cared
because the government was being threatened.) They had nothing
to say about that except that I could call someone else about it
if I didn't like how they were doing things.
So I called the woman's sister and explained it to her, hoping
her sister would keep her out of trouble. Her sister was
worried about her too. She would have liked the police to talk
to her since she had been doing other strange things.
