Been gone for a couple days, but I've got a play I really like
tonight that I'm going to lock up.
Cartagines vs Isidro Metapan Over 3.5 @ +102
This is a CONCACAF Champions League matchup tonight between the
Costa Rican Cartagines and the El Salvadorian Isidro Metapan.
These teams have already faced off in this tournament, as
Cartagines beat Metapan at their house 4-2. Cartagines has also
lost on the road 2-0 against the Galaxy. This will be Metapan's
second match.
Last year Metapan lead their league in goals, but were also
right in the middle of the table in goals allowed. What I love
about Metapan is that of the six Champions League matches they
played last year, every single one went over. They only managed
to score in 1 of their three road matches last year, but also
allowed a total of 11 goals between the two (8-0 / 3-0).
Cartagines don't have a lot of stats to back this play. They
were in the bottom half of goals scored in the league last year,
but finished second in the league in the second part of their
season. This is their first appearance in this tournament since
1997. They have given up two goals in each game they have played
this year, with this game being their first on home turf.
Each team has been structured to have each team play 4 games in
the group stage, which makes winning at home very important. I
think even if Cartagines can find a way to hold Cartagines
scoreless or only give up 1, I think they put up at least 3
themselves on Metapan. Cartagines will come out looking for
goals as they need a victory at home in this tournament. Add
that to the fact that they go up against a team with a good
scoring record, and I think we have an over here.
