*Bounces up hearing mommy and quickly strips down to my
sleepshorts that i still had on under my clothes, running
quickly to the bank and diving into the deep pool the burn made
at this spot, coming up gasping from the icy water, laughing as
2 furry missiles shoot into the water after me

I chuckle as Toni immediately strips down and dives into the
water, as an afterthought thinking about how cold the water must
be and wincing some for her. But as she comes up, I don't see
any signs that she particularly minds. Still, there is such a
thing as hypothermia.
"Now, you're not going to be able to be in there for too long or
your insides'll freeze," I tell her. I'm not trying to scare her
but I'm equally unsure of how true that is. Still, better safe
than sorry.

*wrinkles my nose and looks over at mommy when she says if i
stay in the water too long my insides will freeze, trying ta
figure out iffn she bein for real or not, smilin as a thought
comes to me*
"Hey mommy, iffn myinsides freezes does that mean i dun hafta
goes to school?"

I laugh at Toni's joke and answer, "ha! If your insides freeze
you won't be going anywhere!"

*Giggles and swims towards the small waterfall that provides a
natural slide at the top end of the pool, scrambling barefoot
over the rocks ill i reach the top, then launching myself down,
coming up spluttering and laughing when i hit the pool, before
running back up to do it all again*

Watches you and laughs. "You're going to be tired when you get
home!" I call out happily, glad you're having a good time.

*Ducking under the water i dive down till i can touch the bottom
of the pool, then see if i can swim all across it under the
water*

Toni says that I should come too and I hesitate for a little
bit. "I don't have my swimsuit, silly girl!" I call out with a
laugh. Kids can get away with some things that adults can't!

When Toni insists I laugh lightly with a big grin and start
taking my shoes and socks off. "well, okay. You win," I tell her
as I make my way over and dip a toe in the water, sending a
light splash of it toward Toni.
"It's cold! I don't know how you stand it!"
