With a small smile I brush my hand through my niece's hair. "I
don't think that'll do any good," I answer sincerely. "But nice
try."
After a moment's thought I smooth my niece's hair. "But, I'll
tell you what. You have suffered some pretty heavy consequences
so far and I am willing to let you off for good behavior after
your bedtime spanking tonight as long as you cooperate today. Is
that a deal?"

Smoking is an adult decision. I am not an adult and that means I
should not be smoking. And once I look over that I'm sure I can
think of some chores for you to finish out your day."
