I nod when Iona says she thinks so and tell her, "alright, get
dressed."
Once she does I gently guide her back into the house, my arm
around her to comfort her. Reaching the kitchen again I gesture
to the kitchen table. "Hae a seat. There's one more thing we
need to talk about."

I sit in a chair next to Iona's, facing her. "Okay," I begin,
"so as the rest of your punishment, you will be grounded for the
next three days."
I pause to give her time to process that and then explain, "That
means that you are not allowed to go anywhere unless it is with
us as a family. This time, you can keep all of your household
privileges--television, internet, everything. The only thing you
can't do is go off by yourself or with just Jazzy or your
sisters or cousin. Aunt Kiely or I must be with you. Am I
understood?"

Smiling softly I hand Iona back her phone. "Alright, you can go
get yourself ready for bed and I'll be up in a few minutes to
tuck you in."

Heading into the bathroom i brush my teeth and wash my face
before heading o my room and , pulling back the blankets, i lay
face down on the bed, hands resting under the pillow"

I give Iona a few minutes and then head upstairs, going into my
bathroom to get the cole cream. I head to Iona's room and knock
softly, peeking in. "Iona?" I move into the room and sit on the
edge of the bed, the jar clasped in my hands.
