Once both girls are in the car I get in the driver's seat and
look at then in the rearview mirror. I hear out on the road to
home and don't speak for a few minutes, When I do, I glance in
the rearview mirror first.
"Alright, you two. Tell me exactly what you were up to out on
that beach that you had to lie to Kiely and I in order to do it?
And I also know about the concert. And keep in mind I did see
certain things you were up to on that beach, girls. If you leave
anything out, you're taking the chance on being caught in a lie.
Start talking."

I didn't lie Nanty! I said i was staying with Jazzy an i WAS
with Jazzy i never said WHERE we were gonna be!!

"Both of you knew what Kiely and I would assume," I point out in
a stern tone when the girls don't cop to lying.
Jazzy covers her mouth and I automatically put the locks on the
doors. I was a teenager once. If Jazzy gets sick, okay. But I'm
not giving her the chance to run from me. "Nice try," I tell her
as I hand her the trash can I keep in the car, and continue
driving.

jazzy takes the trash can and starts taking deep breaths to try
to calm me down while this is a calm in the middle of the storm

I keep a careful eye on Jazzy. I can tell she's upset and I have
smelt alcohol on both their breaths, mixed with cigarette smoke.
They'd been given the chance to own up to it and hadn't; that
didn't bode well for either of the girls.
"Fraid not, Jazz. I'm going to drive you home and escort you
inside...and see to it that your mom knows what you've been up
to."
I raise my eyebrow at Iona's comment. "It is if you knowingly
worded something in such a way that it was intended that I
misinterpret!" I shoot back. "And don't think I missed that
eyeroll, young lady."
I pull into the neighborhood and soon turn into the Lawson
driveway. Still not unlocking the doors I say, "alright, you
two. Last chance to own up to stuff before I take you in there
and the chance for leniency is gone."

rolls my eyes its not like anything we didnt rob a bank or mug
an old lady or nothing. well duh cuz
like really?? how can we know what they are going to think when
we tell them something! mumbles under my breath

we had a bonfire - an i went swimming - an we never even got to
make smores!
