Why do sites die
By: James Date: June 27, 2020, 10:44 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Do sites die, can they die or is it the
subscribers that run out of life or never had life in the first
place.
There are those who are swift to post the odd comment when it is
someone else who is in fact supplying the meat of the thread,
while others after registration never contribute, I know not
why.
The big question is were those who were quick to shout
wonderful, marvellous, etc, led by the spirit, or was it a
personal whim to join a new site that within a few months began
to pall for lack of true spiritual infusion. Sites require
members who are aware that the reason for a forum is to provide
a platform for the members to make contributions. The primary
use of a forum is not to provide a site for the majority to
visit with a read only mentality. We need to keep a check on our
motivation and take a personal inventory if we want life to be a
constant result of our practical inclusion as a member.

This morning I was thinking about the Christian forums I have
been on over the years. I had been reading my bible and the
thought came to me as I sat quietly pondering that so many of
the people that frequent these sites in their dealings with
others seem to lack the attributes that I believe are important
to God; things like love, compassion, kindness, generosity and
such like. That's not to say they don't have those virtues in
their ordinary life but when they get on a Christian forum they
have to show how clever and knowledgeable they are, or point out
someone else's weakness or lack of understanding in a mostly
unkind way. They seem to feel that they need to put other
people right to prove how spiritual they themselves are. So I
think perhaps it might be this that causes sites to diminish or
'die' as you put it. Nice people just get fed up of all the
argy-bargying that goes on and give up or move on to pastures
new only have the whole thing repeated yet again. That's been
my experience anyway.

In the present case, Helen was reinstated on the other forum and
the format on that forum is easier to work with than this one.

Than there is that issue, what do you write about... Jesus only
spoke of what was given, we tend to speak of things we dont
necessarily know anything about, We can have a forum filled with
that revealed or filled with what we think we know, i would far
prefer the former, but one mans revelation is not anothers.

elevate themselves by putting all others comments down to

John has it ever crossed your mind why it is that one negative
attitude does effect all, whereas a positive outlook does not
seem to lift the entire company to greater heights?
I see that Jesus came with "good news" but the good news was
squashed. The modern world still concentrates on bad news, light
being almost extinguished by a constant deluge of filth. Guess
we need to look up for our redemption.......!

Even so! My best memories in the flesh are from when I was
little boy playing alone with my toys and no serious worries at
all. I was in my own little fantasy land. At some point I
started to think and to worry and also the filth began to enter
in... Jesus came to me and provided Light, but all around was
still filth and anytime, or each time, I failed to focus on Him
there it was again. God wants us to have that worriless
existence like what I had as a young child, but no longer a
child. Impossible? No, He made it all possible, but so few
really are willing to walk along that pathway for the whole
distance.

Hi James,
I still lurk here occasionally, but I haven't posted.
You've asked a very good question! My idea of why is because of
the disparity in the spirits of the members.
I was very excited to be invited to this forum, as a chance to
escape from a few members on CB that don't believe the Bible the
same as I do, and are the source of insult and derision on a
regular basis.
But that excitement was very short lived when I saw those
members sign up within the next couple of days.
Doh!
And being a smaller community here, there is less opportunity to
just ignore them, and, of course, no "Ignore" feature. So, I
went back to CB.
A few bad apples in a smaller pool, that was enough for me.
Much love!

Thank you for the reply Mark, very sorry
to hear you were disillusioned when those you thought were heavy
handed also arrived at the site, but then it does take all sorts
to make up the family of God.
One can experience the same sort of thing by leaving a church
because of one really objectionable person only to find when you
join another half way across town its as if their twin was also
a member of the congregation. Tells us more about us than it
does about those we are fleeing from.
Hope to see more of you Mark, every blessing James.
