Do you agree or disagree......

I read an news article yesterday from a pastor who relayed that
he thinks Christians should still be meeting together on a
Sunday, that their faith in God needs to be exercised
........... On the one hand I get that we should make a stand
and not be afraid, on the other hand it’s not particularly a
good idea to potentially infect others.
If we were to go to church still would we be putting God to the
test as such !?
Do you agree with this pastor in any way, if you are a regular
church goer , and your church stayed open, would you attend ?
I find it quite interesting to contemplate - faith verses fear
verses wisdom ......
Just curious x

Ye trust God but get together because we dont. When the world
becomes cashless, when we are all controlled by our governments,
where or who are the people going to run to, Church or God,
When I come will I find faith upon the earth..
Even now our faith is being severly tested, whats it going to be
like when the real trouble comes.

The churches are closed by law. But if the law wasn't in place
then to meet together would be right for those that that had the
God given faith to do it. Without that faith coming from the
Holy Spirit it would be wrong. If God said 'go to church' then
I would go but without that I would stay away.

im not sure that that is the best analogy, what with the
mortality rate diff between the two? Only i dont know what the
mortality rate of the black death was lol...
"Mortality rates for treated individuals range from 1 percent to
15 percent for bubonic plague to 40 percent for septicemic
plague. In untreated victims, the rates rise to about 50 percent
for bubonic and 100 percent for septicemic."
alrighty then

I don't think I mentioned mortality rate I mentioned spread by
close contact for they knew like leprosy that close contact was
the key without knowing the scientific reasons or the long names
for them. This village is somewhere I ride on my motorcycle

A good discussion Rita.
For myself as you know , I have not put my confidence in
church gatherings for many a year now. So many I see are doing
more harm than good. They preach a mixed message .
Now, if there was a gathering where all the body were
encouraged in their gifts , then all the local body group would
be edified ....but these days...with one man out front, somehow
believing that he has 'the whole nine yards' of the meeting in
his pocket...no thanks.
As for those pastors that I read about, encouraging their
churches to gather " in faith" and saying "God will protect us".
For me, it is no different spirit than some church who handle
snakes to prove their faith. Phttt!
If those pastors now shooting their mouth off and talking
about 'faith gatherings'....If they had demonstrated to their
flock their faith, and been teaching faith already..healing the
sick, casting out demons , raising the dead...then just maybe
they should be listened to...but these mouthy guys are full of
hot air, they do nothing except preach and take up
offerings...they have no "signs which follow them"...so know
nothing about true faith.
Well, you did ask! hahaha!! xxx

I read the book some time ago, 'A Year of Miracles' I think
it's called. I gave it to my grandaughter when she was learning
about the village in school.

Thanks Ivor, that was really interesting, although I have heard
of the bubonic plague I can’t say I have ever read much about
it. I didn’t realise it was a flu like virus either.
