Mike,
I don't think you're way "out of step". Maybe with orthodoxy,
but from what I hear and read questions are being raised about
most of what you've listed. Theologians in my stream of
churches are certainly reviewing the "born again" idea. How a
person is defined as Christian is different now than in the
primitive church and even up to the reformation. Most of what I
hear has lots related to church history which I have very little
knowledge of, so the discussion tends to go over my head.
Sola Scriptura is common, but not all pervasive. For example the
Methodist have their Wesleyan Quadrilateral, which I think I
lean towards.
Constantine bringing Christianity into mainstream society had a
huge and lasting effect. Some of it can be seen in modern
understandings of healing.
I don't hear any discussion about your point 5 within my
charismatic stream of churches, though. Not surprisingly.
Maybe you should get yourself onto a theology degree course
where discussion of this sort of thing would be welcomed and
even encouraged.
Blessings,
Mike HH

BTW, I passed my scientific 'Driveability' test.
Now lets hope the Hospital accepts that it overrules their
'hunch' and removes their driving prohibition.

Plumber has been and gone. Thursday Carpenter helps remove
remaining old units. Friday the Electrician joins in with a few
mods. Tuesday the Vinyl flooring gets laid. Then we start
erecting the new units.
Today Chris leaves for Lake Como in Italy.

So what are you going to do with one redundant trike, convert it
into a rocking chair for Chris when she arrives home?

Talking of trikes James, I saw one this afternoon which was like
a tandom - the man at the front driving it and his wife at the
back.

Mike,I had one of my off days, off the site, off the dog,off the
hockey team, off the people never answer question, off who believe
or don't believe the b word,off quotes ,off inclinations,so I
asked Helen if she thought we REALLY had to love everyone,"I
could ask her because she was the only one I wasn't off"so here
it is 10 bells and I'm on the site,Mike I read the 6 thesis
points that you nailed to the site,at least Martin Luther had a
revelation that man is not saved by works but by faith and if
any one wants to pick a stone and chuck it him,be my guest, your
6 points made me think of the raising of
Lazarus,Mike,Mike, you're cumbered about with to much
intellectual knowledge,I think God has way more than 6 issues
with the "church" but back to Lazarus,Martha has issues with
Jesus about how he was running the show, she says your 4 days
late,he says no right on time, see his way was Gods way not her
way,He may be 2000years late, according to some,no HE is always
on time, cos HE does it Gods way,not according to wrongs or the
rights,HE says I will build my church, same as he built Eve for
Adam, back to Lazarus,He says Mary hath chosen the better
part, she had quite working, she was trying to work out WHY he was
4 days late, all Martha saw was, what was wrong,HE was late,Mary
wasn't helping,Lazarus was dead, she was probably having an off
day, still working on the loving everybody bit, always slightly
amused me,the I love you brother, when they don't even know
you//////oh in Jesus of course!!!! :)

Hi Dave, as you've noted I'm on a sort of 'off day' (have been
for about 45 years)......Well, at least an 'out of step' day.
