Mike's Personal Stuff.

Fine weather enabled me to get the temporary protective
hardboard floor covering completed by 8.00am today, so all's
well that ends.
(Please stickificate)

This evening I'm off to the monthly meeting of the Norfolk
'Filling Station'.
I'll report back later.
And Poppy, did you ever get anywhere with starting a 'Filling
Station' in Bolton?

Sadly Mike no I didn't. I mentioned to people at church
including our pastor but nobody was interested. Can I come with
you?
PS I've just sent them the link again.

Glad to see a 'personal place' here :) I feel it is always fun
to catch up on the everyday living of people...helps to humanize
each of us. :D
Just waiting for Rita , Laurie and the others to start theirs.
I'd like to know if our prayers are working for Rita's Dan.
Blessings Mike...may you have many angels with you on the
project...and may it go much easier than you first thought. x

The Filling Station.
Apart from the dreadfully horrendous dirge like 'worship' songs,
with the leader closing his eyes and repeating the last lines ad
infinitum and ad nauseum, each time getting fainter and fainter
and fainter, it was a good meeting with a good speaker (even
though he went on for 45 minutes).
He took Helen's and James' cue that our attention should be
wholly on the fact that, as sons and heirs, we should speak and
live with 'authority', with a minimum of recognition being given
to the degree of the old sinful nature that might still be in
the background.
At the end he got us to stand in circular groups of about eight
with arms all linked as we each 'confessed' to our
denominational leanings, and then prayed together that we should
each lose sight of them as we focussed our attention on Christ.
Must have been about 100 there altogether.....great stuff.

I'm so glad...it sounds like a meeting that I may have actually
enjoyed :D And so nice to have it so close to home for you.
Hope you finally meet some good friends there...
Is it a once a month meeting, or what?

Every last Monday per month.
Surprised that there were quite a few Anglicans.
The worship leader was in my final group of 8 and I was amazed
that he turned out to be Anglican.
Also in my group a couple were from the 'Victory'
denomination.....never even heard of that before.
My local Anglican church in Holt is always packed full, yet
there isn't a single charismatic 'arm raiser' amongst
them......I just can't understand it all.
During the 'worship singing' I gazed around me at everyone else
and felt that all those people who were supposedly 'full of the
Spirit' were in fact 'drunk with wine', or some other
intoxicant.
(me at my worst yet again. :'()
