Introduction
By: FHII Date: February 15, 2020, 4:23 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello old acquaintances and new ones! I'd like to thank Helen
for directing me here and to introduce myself.
I was drawn to the Lord in the late 1990s and have attended a
nondenominational Church since the early 2000s. I believe
attending Church is important and I believe Church leadership is
highly honorable, yet no more vital than its followers.
I believe the Bible is the Word of God and has authority over
all else. While I believe extra writings, doctrines or beliefs
can be ok, if they clash with the Bible, I will stick to what
the Bible says.
I'll have to be up front with one thing that upsets many: I am
not a trinitarian. I do believe in the Father, Jesus Christ and
the Holy Ghost, but I believe them to be manifestations of the
One God. I tend to leave this alone as it leads to endless
debates that have no hope of ever being concluded. I won't shy
away from a debate, but I simply know how pointless it will be
for everyone.
My philosophy on posting has changed drastically over the past 5
years (I've been one message boards for 20 years!). I have made
it a point not to use personal attacks ever. That includes
denominations (as people tend to accept them as part of them).
That is not to say I will not discuss or criticize doctrines. I
may even call them rediculous, but I will not place it on the
person himself or herself.
I do my best to not get rattled or upset at personal attacks
towards me as well. I'd rather stick to the meat of the
subject.
Frankly, I don't like personal attacks on others as well
(meaning, when I am not involved in the conversation). I try to
mind my own business, but I just may decide to stick my nose
where it doesn't belong!
Of course, I'm hoping this site will be different and I have no
need to worry about such!
Even so, I am fallible. I slip up some times, as do we all.
There is no greater display of strength than when a man or woman
can admit they were wrong in their actions or beliefs. And
there is no greater exposing of weakness than when someone mocks
a repenting act.
Wish you all peace!
FHII

Glad to see you FHII, Thanks for your introduction...have seen
you on and off the other cite but...in like, a minute I've
learned more about you than I ever knew being on CB for almost 2
years. Welcome!

Sure has been one in the short time here. I wonder where He
will bring this site. But then, we are still fallible humans
and...nothing new...BUT- it is a breath of fresh air sometimes.

Welcome to you FHII so you finally got across the login hurdle
, glad that persisted :)
Thank you so much for the lovely overview. Praise God brother.
You know pretty much everyone here.( Even Ivor was/is also a
member on CB , though not posted for a year , or maybe more.)
This forum is a much 'smaller room' than CB , I am hoping
because of that ( and I feel like it is already beginning) we
can get to know each other even better than we already have,
as we encouraged each other along the way.
We've been (well some) have been talking about 'heart and
intent'. I believe this builds trust in the integrity when
reading a persons post.
"For me" something that I was losing, if not lost!
I find that now, because of some of the experiences on CB I
have unfortunately built up a bad habit of being permanently on
-guard over the years, and in reading posts as always looking
for the quick jab that is often very likely to come straight at
me.
Since being here again, I glaringly saw that nasty little trait
that I had acquired without knowing it. :(
My trust in the honestly of the poster had gone, and I found
that I viewed every post with suspicion and as time bomb .
I have been pulled up by my boot straps , and I have found that
once more my confidence and trust in my brother is indeed still
valid. Yay!!
Every blessing ...H

Hi FHII and welcome to LW.
I pick out the above bit from your post because I have a feeling
that what you said may well turn out to be a seed that plants
itself in my heart.
I'm not sure whether or not it will grow and flourish, but if it
does then maybe you can claim that as a jewel in your crown.
God bless....Mike
