Time for us Oldies to follow Willie T's example.

By which I mean in terms of 'nailing our colours to the mast'
Personally I incline towards Cessationism and consequently do
not do tongues.
I'm also too introverted to feel comfortable in extreme
'charismatic' expression.
I have 'trodden the boardwalks' for so long that I have learned
to avoid the dogmatic opinion that underpins the vast
denominational divide.
That's why I prefer to restrict to using the term 'I incline
towards'.
As to man's default eternal destiny I incline towards
'Annihilationism', and utterly reject Eternal torment in
Hellfire, other than for "The beast, the Devil, and the False
Prophet" (whoever they might be).
I'm a retired 'driven' businessman and have made and lost
fortunes in different business ventures.
I'm also a 'driven' artist and often can't resist posting the
odd picture or two (see
HTML https://mikewatersart.blogspot.com/

Ok, I guess the theory of reciprocity dictates that I also
reveal a bit more.
I was once CoC, so of course I automatically (or, by osmosis)
accepted the inculcated "fact" that just about everything
involved with the beginning of Christianity in the
1[sup]st[/sup] Century had died with the Apostles.
Having, over the years, lived a bit more of life and experienced
a LOT MORE of God, I no longer feel that way.
I still see no real use for the typical notion of "tongues"
today, in fact I seriously doubt the honesty and validity of the
use of most of the phenomenon as it is displayed today. BUT I
definitely believe we can, and often do, receive "prayer
languages." I have not only received such a language, but about
ten years later, had it suddenly and surprisingly "upgraded", so
to speak, to a different-sounding kind of speech.
I also believe in "healing" through us earthly vessels known as
mere human beings. (Both physical and emotional healing) I
have both received healing, and have been used of God to help
bring healing to others...…. and to a dog..... and to some
azaleas my wife thought were lost to her forever. (They were
given to her by her father.)
I suppose that is about as weird as it gets. (There is actually
more, but I will save that for later.... not wanting to
"overload" anyone right now.) LOL

Hi Mike,
I see that you and Helen have some things in common. My butt is
still on the fence where the whole "hell" issue is concerned.
Although, I have come to believe it is the fire itself that is
"everlasting" not burning people throughout eternity. And that
it is the "worm" that is not consumed. Often wonder if this is
talking about the fact that some might one day be cast from
heaven as Lucifer was, right into eternity? Hmmm.

On the note of a place of eternal punishment...……. For
those of you who see the "New Jerusalem" as Christian's future
abode...… Why does that place have gates? Is it to keep
Christians locked in, or is it to keep someone else locked out?

Nice thread. :)
Well even with the few here who have taken the plunge to share
'where we are' in this thread...we can see we each have some
different persuasions.
So Willie, no worries about this site being boring with much too
"sweetness and light" that there is no rub to rub... and I
believe the rubbing together and getting our rough edges smooth
, is how Father make each of us a smooth block to fit neatly
into His End Time Temple.
Everyone here I am sure knows my persuasion on The Restitution
of all things..that is an old newspaper.
I as also most know use a prayer language .
Willie you mentioned it changing...that only happened to me
once.
I was praying and suddenly the language change to what I felt
was Russian..( or one of those countries) ..plus I felt the
prayer become very intense ...I have no idea what I was praying
about or who I was praying about ...after about 30 mins , it
just got lighter and switched back to the regular prayer
language. It was a one-off, and never happen again.
I have also had many healings , and used to lay hand on my
little children and saw them healed in an instant...and running
of to play.
Never seen that happen when praying for adults :D :D
Iv'e had a few visions in my time , three were very vivid and
with my eye open... and very unexpected at the time. It felt as
if God just jumped into our realm.
Other things too...which will probably crop up in
discussions.
At least here, people can disagree but not yell out
..."Heretic"
Yes, it does feel 'safer'. :)

I've never had a vision, but my wife has. As she was driving,
she saw me falling backward with a huge weight in my arms. She
shot a "NO" arrow-prayer. As it turns out, at that same time,
five miles away, I had just tripped backwards out of a tall
truck with a 250# steel cooker in my arms.
I never saw an angel or anything, but when I hit the ground,
that cooker had been thrown about six feet off to my side. I
still felt the hard landing, but nothing crushed my chest.

Now that, is an awesome testimony!! Wow and backward..woW!!! :)
Love it.
Dave and I were evangelizing in the bars and pubs , in England (
when we were young and bouncy)
These two old ladies prayed all the time that they knew that we
were out there.
Next Sunday they came up to us and said " What happened Friday
night while you were out there? We had a tremendous urge to
intercede at 8.30. "
Well I came out of a certain bar, it was one of those tiny
backstreets in Brighton...I waited on the other side of the road
opposite the bar. ( I didn't want to be ins taken as a hooker!
LOL )
Dave came out, saw me, and started running across to me..at the
same time we heard this car come ripping down the road..I could
just see him ...flattened :o
I kid you not , I had no idea how on earth it could stop...Dave
stood there, with his hand on the hood!! It was one of the most
amazing things I have seen ...talk about angels...and praise God
for little old ladies who know how to pray!! ✟

Wowserville, now that really is something to ponder upon ....
and I'll wager (even hope) that there could be many differing
conclusions from different members.

Becky was our dog and went to her 'kennel in the sky' almost a
year ago.
We now have a 'rescued' 14 year old Westie called Charlie who's
owner became bed ridden with cancer and needed a new home for
him. Probably because it had become Charlie's habit he now
insists on sleeping hard up against me in my bed. :'(
