'When these passing days are done'

What would you best like to be remembered by?
Think hard and long before adding your choice.
For me it would be:
Christ is a diamond, so perfectly cut, with multiple
facets so bright.
Around Him stands all manner of men, each seeing one aspect of
light,
Christ turns but a fraction, the sparkling lights change;
New wonders the viewers perceive.
Each light somewhat different; specifically meant,
for the ones who the Spirit receive.
None has the right to say to another, the light that you see
isn't true.
The facet for him was cut for his purpose; yours was cut spec’ly
for you.
But all viewers jointly, their own lights held true, make a
composite brilliant reflection.
It's the Body of Christ . . . The Diamond's intent . . .
TO MIRROR ITS WONDROUS PERFECTION

Okay, I have 'thought'. ( now I presume we are speaking of
Christlike virtues)
What first popped into my mind is the mother in law of my
daughter who died a few weeks ago.
Good strong christian woman...passionate, bossy, and felt she
had to nag anyone younger than her into the kingdom. Dave and
I were talking about her funeral and burial etc etc...and we had
to say that although she was passionate about the things of the
Lord, she was not a kind person. She was neither kind or gentle
or what we call 'loving. Strong , yes, passionate, yes,
dogmatic , yes.
So my thought run more along the line of what I DON'T want
to be remembered for!!!! :o
Ones prayer is often that we have been light, life and a
blessing to others, even though we have the negative strengths.
And that these lips have impart some remaining wisdom which
helps another along the way.
I like that scripture which says "And thine ears shall hear a
word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when
ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."
So very very often I still hear 'the voice behind me' ...be
it my old pastor, or the so many, many mentors over the
years...Their words have held me in good stead.
I hope I too leave a similar trail of wise life-giving words to
those my life has touched over the many years.

For kindness, and honesty, and being joyful.

I think Helen said it.
I would like to be remembered for being kind and patient but
mostly for being kind.

No good wishing to be remembered for what we are not.
'Corse, in my case I'm far removed from being patient .... I'm
the personification of 'impatience'; being creative to the
degree of OCD.
Woeserville am I!
