It was a good day!
Shock awake at 6.15, light full on and a shout of wakey brakey
by Abigail who was closely followed by Josephine. They had
already invaded their parents bedroom with news of a visit by
Father Christmas.
The day was fun and the peace remained. I cooked duck and
pheasant for lunch which was different, the children have now
retired to bed and we can all take a short reflection upon the
Lords day.

Glad that your time was good and fun James. He were up at
daughters house while they shared gifts and we ate breakfast
with them. Now a down time while she and Alan do the turkey and
all that goes with it. Jane did duck last year, and none of us
were very keen on it...what did you think?
Back in England one year we had a goose, I didn't like that
either...far too fatty/greasy for me. I still like the turkey,
ham, pork and beef. BUT they are getting priced out of our range
almost. When we think of what $20 USED to buy, and now all they
it does NOT buy in this day!!!! :o
We will go back up there in3 hours time...and you will be tucked
in bed by then, and we will be just getting started!! Ha!!

Not sure about duck, these were wild so the meat was very dark.
A chap pays us £20 a month to park here and he shot them as he
is part of a shooting syndicate. A very welcome gift, but I
think they may have needed a couple of weeks in red wine and a
very very slow cook.
Jeanette hated them, Vessy liked the duck, Daniel was non
committal and Rachel did a good job of tucking into hers.
Love to Jane and Alan.
Blessings for the new year to one and all
James
