The Greatness of God.
By: Mike Date: November 24, 2015, 7:06 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I believe in a God who is far greater than many seem to perceive
and far greater even that the perception of the man who applies
his best endeavours to not narrow his horizon.
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
almighty, victorious, thy great Name we praise.
To all life thou givest, to both great and small;
in all life thou livest, the true life of all;
we blossom and flourish, like leaves on the tree,
then wither and perish; but nought changeth thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
all laud we would render: O help us to see
'tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.

That is so true..we so often keep trying to get God into a box
so we can understanding Him..but just as we think we have done
that , He slips out of the box! :)
I love that last verse...it gives me goose bumps...
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
all laud we would render: O help us to see
'tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.
OH HELP US TO "SEE!!"

He's my friend and helper yet he is majestic and almighty I do
like God being the Almighty - it kind of eases life somewhat
knowing he has ultimately everything in his control

When I think of God's greatness, it brings me to the place of
the song "He walks with me and talks with and tells me I am His
own" and the realization that He, always has time for me. I
found this odd scripture in 1 Chron 4 v 23, you know those
boring names chapters, but this little verse says, " these the
potters, and those that dwelt among plants, and hedges: there
they dwelt with the "king" for his work. They weren't noblemen
or great soldiers, prophets or priests but they dwelt with the
king!!!!!! That, to me is His greatness, Jesus, man of sorrows
and aquainted with our sorrows and our griefs, the one who says
in our struggles, here, take my yoke, for my yoke is easy, It's
called dwelling with the King.

Good word Dave..which prompted me...if His gentleness can make
us great...it must be His gentleness that made Jesus great.
Psalm 18.35 "Thou hast also given me the shield of thy
salvation: and Thy right hand hath holden me up, and Thy
gentleness hath made me great."

It seems that for the word gentleness one could translate
'meekness'.
This gave me the picture of Moses the meekest man above all upon
the earth.
It would make it read "thy meekness hath made me great". Pride
will cause us to fall yet humility will cause one to rise up,
like a cork in the ocean nothing can keep it down, if we will
humble ourselves he will exalt.
Peter says-Humble yourselves therefore under the
mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7Casting
all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Humility concedes that I must cast care to his Great and Mighty
Hand and let him lift me up.
Humility is trusting the greatness of God!
