Children Of The Day

Good reminder!
Let us, who are of the Day, be sober, putting on the breastplate
of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation
of Jesus Christ. - Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breast-plate of righteousness;
above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the
helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the
word of God.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe
away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people
shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath
spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our
God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the
LORD; ... we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.

Jeremiah wrote; " For I know the plans I have for you, declares
the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give
you a HOPE and a future------------" Deu, 29v29 "The secret
things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are
revealed belong unto us and our children forever that we may do
all the words of this law." sometimes it seems that more is
secret, than revealed, maybe we think we understand that which
has not been revealed to us, but has been to somebody else and
try to live that.

Just seen this!
Once more I am reminded that it is the mind that needs to be
girded up.
It starts from our head (Jesus) get your head in the right place
and the rest of your being will follow.
"I will keep him in perfect peace who's mind is stayed on my".

"The children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin
of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the veil upon his face
again, until he went in to speak with Him" Exodus 34:35.
The effect of seeing the glory of God is a change in
countenance!
A person's countenance is the outward expression of what is in
his heart. And Moses' face here simply reflected the glory of
God in his soul! Wow..praise God!!
The more time we spend with God, the more we are changed!!

How I wish my countenance shone with God's glory all the time
but I expect it has done sometimes just as we recognise the
light of God in the faces of others who may be complete
strangers.

I can see why John wrote, some of bro Paul's stuff is not for
the faint of heart,( amplified version) I was thinking, how
light shines OUT of darkness, the same way, "Be not overcome of
evil, but overcome evil with good" Good, is our answer to evil
and without it, we will be overcome in our minds by it, Paul
then goes on in Roms 13 " Let every soul be subject unto the
higher powers.( interesting) For there is no power but of God:
the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the
ordinance of God:( more interesting) and they that resist shall
receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Wilt
thou then not be afraid of the power?
(good question) do that which is good, and thou shalt have
praise of the same.(shiney face)
This whole segment deals with our response to the evil we see
around us. Paul in 13 v 12 writes "The night is far spent, the
day is at hand( what day) let us therefore cast of the works of
darkness( I thought I'd done that) and let us put on the armour
of light". Now as Paul is writing to believers, and must be
addressing the evil they were seeing, it was the thought of the
armour of light that piqued my interest; it would appear that
they still had to cast off the works of darkness, (would that be
salvation by the law). He doesn't say the works of light but
the armour of light.
Armour, as I see it is defence for offence, Jesus as the light
of the world, said" wist ye not that I must be about my father's
business" a rallying call to overcome with good. Saints, the
night is far spent, it must be the breaking of the day, as we
have put on Him and the armour, we are "more than" conquerors in
all circumstances and situations.
