How encouraging it is to know “Our God Reigns” at
this time when “men’s hearts are failing them for
fear,” ... kings, presidents and rulers of nations argue
over ways to bring peace during the nuclear threats.
The Church of Christ (that’s us,) has been destined and
equipped for victory. Though
there have been many defeats throughout the history of the
Church, the truth still stands in spite of ever present crisis.
The Lord has promised us His Church.... "the gates of Hell will
not
prevail against us."
“We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities and powers, against rulers of darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”
(Ephesians 6:12)). Our weapons of warfare are not carnal, but
mighty though God (2Corinthians 10:4).
Fear will leave us defeated, faith will bring victory. If God
be for us, who can stand against us? :)
A mighty fortress is our God,
A bulwark never failing;
Our shelter He, amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe
Doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and pow’r are great,
And, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
Did we in our own strength confide,
Our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side,
The Man of God’s own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth is His name, from age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.
Those words by Martin Luther were written as a hymn, A Mighty
Fortress is our God, in 1529.
It does not mean we sit around and do nothing, rather that we
trust the Lord to do through us what ever He commands, we know
that the battle is His and it is already won!!
