Lord why do I get huffy?
By: James Date: October 8, 2015, 12:30 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I was thinking and wondering when I will stop with the feelings
of being annoyed? Just how long does it take for this spiritual
inoculation to take effect and I become all warm and fuzzy?
Lord why don't I have patience?
God said "because you have not suffered enough."
With that I thought of James 5..Behold, we count
them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job.
To be abundantly truthful, no I had not heard of the patience of
Job but I had read of the suffering of Job. After all Job did
not have any choice, it is not as if he suffered manfully under
the situation rather than to opt out and say thanks God but I
need to kick back in the sunshine and get some R&R. There was
nothing he could do about what was his daily situation, he could
not bring his children back to life. He could not single handed
build his fallen houses, he could not go after the thieves and
regain his property and he could not cure his own sickness.
So he sat and waited!
Job waited on God, he refused to "curse God and die". So I guess
that Job's patience was that he never gave up on the Lord being
the Lord and that is what it is all about!!!
For when I loose it I stop believing that God is God and I think
in frustration that the situation should be rectified, that
stupid woman driving like and idiot for the past 20 miles not
letting me pass would not be on the road if only the authorities
saw things my way.
My way, now that's a game changer. Suddenly I no longer trust
the Lord to know best, I no longer see his salvation outworking
in the here and now. What I see is a situation that needs
adjusting to make it right, and I know just how to do it.
Job said that even though he die because of the current
situation...in my flesh shall I see God: 27Whom I shall see for
myself, and mine eyes shall behold,
WOW. I thought I had to have patience for the situation, how
wrong I was.
I have to have patience with God my father. It is not the silly
driver in my way I need patience with, it is not this illness
that I have to endure and have patience with. My lack of
patience has been with the Lord, does not James tell us this..
Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the
earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early
and latter rain. 8Be ye also patient;
The Lord waits ever so long for the fruit of the harvest and
that is what I have to have my eye on, it is all about the
harvest of souls, including me, for the population of the
kingdom of God, that matters. The slight irritation if I am
willing to suffer it to be so Matt 3 is not where my attention
should be.
That I believe is the type of suffering that the Lord is truly
interested in. Suffer the Lord to have his way and be yea
patient to see his glory!!

Small mercies are delightful and we can enjoy seeing Gods work
in others which although it does not help us it does give us
something knowing of his patience.
Jesus said his work is to do the will of his Father in heaven
and we can watch that happening in others all the while others
are watching him do the the same with us. Jesus is so gentle as
he untangles the thorns in our life without us feeling it. We
only recognise his work afterwards

Quote James..I was thinking and wondering when I will stop with
the feelings of being annoyed? Just how long does it take for
this spiritual inoculation to take effect and I become all warm
and fuzzy?
What we should have done, when we had the opportunity was to ask
Eldred Linden how he did it!!! Was he REALLY as calm, loving
and incredibly patient as he manifested? Was he born that way,
or did he mortify his flesh and have full dominion over "his
garden"?
It always seemed rude to face to face ask him if he was for
real. It would sound as if we thought he was faking it. I for
one have not yet 'got-it'...and I can tell you Dave hasn't
either haha!!
We have heard it said.." Don't pray for patience, as tribulation
worketh patience" We know that the word patience there means
endurance...is it patience or endurance we need? But not the
gritted teeth kind of endurance.
If you don't want to live "tribulated" then don't pray for it!
:)
I have to have patience with God my Father. It is not the silly
driver in my way I need patience with, it is not this illness
that I have to endure and have patience with. ///So I guess
that Job's patience was that he never gave up on the Lord being
the Lord and that is what it is all about!!!
For when I loose it I stop believing that God is God
I liked that thought...and hadn't thought of it quite that way
before...but sounds good.
If Eldred had been born that way and did not "grow" that
way...then that seems somewhat unfair ( NOT that God has ever
told us things will be fair) I remember yelling at my friend
Melvia once ( actually in the street!!) ..and saying- " It's not
fair..you never worry, you never seem flustered or upset with
anything, you have nothing to overcome, WHY must I do more
overcoming than YOU?! "
There must be some reason that we are all made so differently!

I think all of us have it some of the time and some of us have
it all the time but not all of us have it all the time.

As one of the originators of huff, I'm reminded of the words of
Jesus when He said " the enemy comes and finds nothing in me" it
also says, that the enemy sows while men sleep Matt 13 v 25, I
assume, they slept at night but in the middle east men also
slept in the daytime, to get away from the heat, but most huffs
are based on what the enemy of our souls has sown at one time or
another, and God let's them be until we can effectively deal
with them, many try prematurely, only to have them resurface
just about the time you're thinking, victory oh victory is mine,
victory, is co-labouring with the Lord of the harvest when it's
harvest time and everybody's time is different, that's why I
believe the testimony of the saints is an integral part, hence
we have Job's testimony, Helen's testimony, etc, etc, not initial
salvation, I remember hearing a Bro telling how God delivered
him in a certain situation and there was I thinking I was the
only one, so there was my harvest time. In reading James's, it
made me think of this song, and if I'm singing I'm not huffing,
because He gives us songs of deliverance.
"His eye is on the sparrow,SO I KNOW He
watches me."

I like Lynne Randall's rendition,

His eye is on the
sparrow, so I know He watches me"
