how we are blessed

I was born in England the first week of March 1946. That date is
important since every child born in that week was enrolled into
the National Survey of Children.
Every school year I had a full medical , full cognisant tests
plus odd bits in between.
When I reached around 25 the test came less frequent.
That was to set the scene for this Tuesday when I had a house
visit for my latest test.
Part of the evaluation is to ask loads of questions about my
health, have you had......? Do you suffer from...............?
My constant no began to reveal how blessed I was. Then came the
other questions, do you have problems leaving your house? Who
will look after you if this happens or that happens? Have you
ever felt like doing away with yourself? Do you ever feel there
is no hope? Does the thought of meeting people worry you?
I'm going no, no ,no ,no, no.
Then it hit me how blessed was I, I because I don't live in fear
and stress had no idea what it was like to dread each day , to
fear having to take on the world, to have a voice in me telling
me no one would miss me.
I just felt "Oh Lord how You covered me and I never knew".

That is a truly wonderful testimony James. And without
comparing our lives to those of others - or being asked the
questions you were asked - we can take for granted just how
blessed we really are when our lives are compared to those 'in
the world'.

Amen Bro. Indeed how blessed we are. We are programmed to think
of how we 'feel' and check ourself when something in the body
feels' off' and not in sync...yet, as you say...most of us are
so healthy once we discount the few age related thing going-on
in the " old tent" .....compared to so many others.
I resent the four medications that I have to take daily, yet
when I went for my pre-Op assessment before surgery, ...the
doctor said to me " Is that all you are on, that's excellent."
;D. blessed indeed!!

It is astounding Helen, blessed , kept in the hollow of his hand
and we did not understand his power and love to us.
I suspect that as we are told not to compare ourselves with
others Pat, that we do not even see how their lives reveal the
Lords goodness to us.
