       There you have it!!
By: James Date: August 21, 2015, 1:58 pm

Luke -Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to
       enter into his glory?
Ought a word that has the meaning of 'must needs' 'necessary'
       'should'.
Paul uses the word in Acts 17 Opening and alleging, that Christ
must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead.
Not sure I like the thought that Christ (the anointed Jesus) the
head of the body must needs suffer. Since that which anoints the
head also anoints the rest of the body as thus it says--'It is
like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the
beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his
garments;' if it is a "need" for Jesus to suffer before glory
then I am sure that it is a need for the body to suffer.
Is it not interesting that Jesus was MADE perfect by that which
he suffered, by suffering he learned obedience Heb 5:8. He
acquired the ability to provide help and relief to others by
suffering. By the suffering of temptation Heb 2:18, and I do not
believe for a second that this scripture refers to the
wilderness and the devil, no I believe it refers to the times
that I feel "just what's going on Lord, tell me why am I
bothering to try to even live for Jesus"?
Jesus had to suffer outside the gate to sanctify the people Heb
13:12. We are encourage to go to him outside the gate, we have a
calling to sanctify many who will never move out of their
comfort zone to achieve the high calling prize. It is as if our
lives are a gift of suffering to the Lord to give time by our
obedience to not serve flesh, for others to be saved. Suffering
is clear in the spirit but only in the spirit, try to think of
suffering based upon logic and it makes no sense at all.
I am not yet where Paul was, and not sure I ever will be, when
he was told what awaited him at Rome he said "None of these
things move me"Acts 20:24. He was resolute and committed to
following the Lord and taking up his cross.

Some good thoughts Bro; "ought" put a letter N in front and blow
me down you have "nought" and were back to old Bro Job; got me
thinking; Jesus was "made" perfect by? so in the man Jesus, God
saw some things missing and one wonders whether, he said to
satan have you considered my servant /son; there's none like Him
in all the earth!!!!!!! but satan, when He's finished, no double
portion for him but the whole earth shall be FILLED with the
glory of the knowledge of the Lord; don't look back saints at
what you were but press into who you are; "for our light
affliction, which is but for a moment, "worketh for us" He was
made perfect by that which he suffered; He suffered pain not
only in the flesh but also in the soul realm; people forsaking
Him; denying Him and like us; at the time I'm sure it didn't
seem a light affliction even to Him but He knew that for us; His
suffering would bring us" a far more exceeding eternal weight of
glory" He was in ALL points tempted like as we and as He
overcame; so shall we and as we are yoked in Him; His burdens
are light; the one thing we don't have to suffer from is guilt
and shame it was in the price that He paid"1 Cor 6vs 19-20.

I was thinking the same thing today Dave, I doubt that the devil
wanted to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, having tried it with
Eve, then failed miserable with Job, he already knew the outcome
of testing Jesus. He had no option but to do what the father
bade him do, "go test my son and see if there is ought in him".
God knew the outcome since he was making the devil test the
strength of Jesus not his weakness.

I love that line James, he tested Jesus strength not the his
weaknesses; lets me see that it's His plan for us not ours for
       Him. Good line Bro.

Thats interesting - did the devil really know the outcome, I did
not think he knew the future - , surely if he knew that he would
have known that he would be defeated at the cross. I have always
believed that Satan only truly knows if his tempting is
successful by the actions of the person, the outcome
I am not sure I see how it was just Jesus strength that was
tested, surely he was as vunerable as anyone would have been if
they had been isloated and not eaten for forty days and nights -
on one level he was strong, and I agree that his awareness of
the truth was solid - but it is through our weaknesses that
satan can attack and does - we only know what Jesus spoke, we do
not know what was going on within him ( on an emotional level -
it is not a sin to be tempted ) why should Jesus battle be any
different to our own - look at how he was in the garden of
       gethsemmane - human.
Surely the wilderness was preperation for the true battle, Jesus
needed to learn ( as we all do ) how to fight the enemy -
I do get what you are saying, and actually its interesting to
look upon the temptation and battle from a different prospective
       - I am just not convinced about the devil knowing the outcome -
its not something I have considered before x

No sweat Rita that's how you see it. I do not believe that satan
wanted to take on Jesus, satan knew that Jesus as a son had
access to all the father had. Satan had not been able to
overcome Noah, Daniel or Job, ( they remained Righteous Ez
14:14) I wonder was he so conceited to think he could win
       against Gods Son?
This side of glory we may never know, but then ............

Of course Satan thinks he can win against Jesus, that's why the
war is still raging and the night is yet to get much darker
before dawn. The Holocaust was to rid the world of every Jew
therefore stopping fulfilment of scripture of them returning. It
probably wont be his only attempt down that avenue with the
Jews. Turning true Christians to agents of Antichrist must come
where they will kill us and genuinely believe they are doing
       Gods will

My thoughts are satan has always known that he can not defeat
God's plan; in the garden he knew he had to separate the Adams
from the tree of life; which he did, but that did not defeat the
plan of God; Jesus defeats him in the wilderness with it is
written; in Acts 3 is the story of the lame man; whom Peter and
John raise up; which in Chpt 4 is called a sign or a notable
miracle; Peter then goes on to say that "they" killed the
Prince of Life; in v 18 Peter says; "But those things, which God
before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ
should suffer, he hath so fulfilled" so did satan know what was
written concerning Christ? in the wilderness he seemed to know
enough scripture to quote it to Jesus; an interesting couple of
verses in 2Cor 2 v 7- 8 read; the para version; Paul speaking of
the princes of this world and wisdom; says in v 8 ;" Which none
of the princes of this world knew, for had they known it; they
would not have crucified the Lord of Glory" but satan is not a
prince of this world; he knows his time is short; so how does he
know that; if he is not always been defeated where the plan of
God is concerned; Rita; Jesus suffered in his soul in all points
for us; to show us His victory; is our victory; it used to be
the soul that sinneth shall surely die; now it is; to wit; the
       redeeming of our soul.
