" Hope As An Anchor.. "

       "Rejoicing in hope."
"The hope which is laid up for you in heaven. - If in this
life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most
miserable. - We must through much tribulation enter into the
kingdom of God. - Whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come
after me cannot be my disciple. - No man should be moved by
these afflictions, for yourselves know that we are appointed
       thereunto.
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. - The
God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. -
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto
lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. -
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom though now ye see him
not, yet believing. ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of
glory. - By whom also we have access by faith into this grace
wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."
       Rom. 12:12. Col. 1:5. I Cor. 15:19. Acts. 14:22. Luke 14:27. I
       Thes. 3:3. Phi. 4:4. Rom. 15:13. I Pet. 1:3. I Pet. 1:8. Rom.

Boy that brings back memories of lusty singing of "will your
anchor hold" at the little Methodist chapel on the hill back in
the days I lived in Crowhurst Sussex.
We never knew we had it so good compared to what is put before
us at many of today's Christian Services.
Never the less, hope for a manifestation of the Glory of the
Father keeps us like a compass, pointed the way home through
       Jesus.

Reminds me of this song we sing at church:
       STUART TOWNEND
You Are My Anchor (the Father's Embrace)
       You are my anchor,
       My light and my salvation.
       You are my refuge,
       My heart will not fear.
Though my foes surround me on every hand,
       They will stumble and fall
       While in grace I stand.
       In my day of trouble
You hide me and set me above
To sing this song of love.
One thing I will ask of You, this will I pray:
To dwell in Your house, O Lord, every day,
To gaze upon Your lovely face,
And rest in the Father’s embrace.
       Teach me Your way, Lord,
Make straight the path before me.
Do not forsake me, my hope is in You.
As I walk through life, I am confident
I will see Your goodness with every step,
And my heart directs me to seek You
       In all that I do,
So I will wait for You.

Helen: "That is a good one HH, not heard it before ...enjoyed
       it! "
       That's good, I'm glad.
It's a performance of the song that Pat posted. I thought
hearing it sung would be more beneficial than reading the
       lyrics.

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul
thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and
thirsty land where no water is; to see thy power and thy glory,
so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that
hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and
milk without money and without price. — The Spirit and the
bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him
that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water
of life freely. — Whosoever drinketh of the water that I
shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall
give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into
everlasting life. — My blood is drink indeed.
Eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved."

The Lord is our hope, it is him we trust in no matter how things
look we wait for him to be gracious. He it is who is our life
the reason that we now live and move and have our being.
Jer17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose
hope the LORD is. 8For he shall be as a tree planted by the
waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall
not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall
not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from
       yielding fruit.
Rom For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope:
for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25But if we hope
for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
1Pet 3:15But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready
always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason
of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1Joh 3:3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth
himself, even as he is pure.
