       Todays thought

I may be alone in posting in here :D
I just thought, as it is evening here for me..reviewing the
blessings of the day...it may be nice to have a "Blessing
thread". Blessing Quotes, blessing poems, blessing thoughts,
anything to finish the day as we sign off before bed.
We may not always have something "original" to say...but we can
always come up with a blessing quote to leave here, for our
       online friends.
       Goodnight and God bless. x
*“If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you
look within, you'll be depressed. If you look at God you'll be
       at rest.” *

Ps 103 v 2 "Bless the Lord, Oh my soul and forget not ALL his
benefits" we used to sing that at one time; Martin Luther said
;when I cannot pray I always sing; it's so easy at the end of
       the day to forget.

" Nothing holds greater power to transform our inner life than
that moment when God's voice touches our heart with revelation
       of Who He Is!!"
       Wow! Blessed indeed.

5 to 10 and it's still light outside; the song writer wrote
"Lord, lift me up and let me stand; By faith, on heaven's
table-land, A higher plane than I have found, Lord, plant my
feet on higher ground; a night time prayer for a new day
       blessing.

Just been sitting with my grand children as they go off to
sleep. They are in bunks and Jossie is in the bottom so I sit on
the floor with my head on the side of her bed as she likes to
run her hand through someone's hair as she goes off. I was just
enjoying that simple feeling of being allowed to be part of her
       life.
It is such a wonderful thing to be given the privileged of being
part of this great big mystical body of Christ

What a lovely picture that paints James. What great memories
both you and she are making. Something that can never be taken
       away. :-*
The old Patriarchs knew how to really bless...I think these days
it is a dying art. I am sure most children go to bed and say
goodnight to the back of their parents heads as they sit glued
       to the Box.
[color=maroon]May the blessing of light be
on you - light without and light within.
May the blessed sunlight shine on you like a great peat fire,
so that stranger and friend may come and warm himself at it.
And may light shine out of the two eyes of you,
like a candle set in the window of a house,
bidding the wanderer come in out of the storm.
And may the blessing of the rain be on you,
may it beat upon your Spirit and wash it fair and clean,
and leave there a shining pool where the blue of Heaven shines,
       and sometimes a star.
And may the blessing of the earth be on you,
soft under your feet as you pass along the roads,
       soft under you as you lie out on it, tired at the end of day;
and may it rest easy over you when, at last, you lie out under
       it.
May it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from
under it quickly; up and off and on its way to God.
And now may the Lord bless you, and bless you kindly. Amen.

Nice picture James; no wonder God told the fathers to pass on
the blessings of the lord to their children and their children's
children;"Trust in the dark brings Triumph at the dawn"

Repentance is not a word that I use a lot. But I am repenting.
Repenting from the lack of thanksgiving. I have let it drop.
Repenting from all distractions from The Truth.
What a blessing to have a Father we can come to, and find
forgivness for letting things slip so easily.

Looks like me and you Helen; at the end of this day I can look
back and thank the Lord for His care for Lisa; the God/good work
with you; nice to have the old prophet overnight; thanks for
food on the table; a roof over our heads; what's wrong with an
old car? thanks that we weren't caught outside in the storm
today; gives you a certain empathy with the person who wrote "Oh
for a thousand tongues to sing my great redeemer's praise"
signing off; if Jesus doesn't come tonight I'll see you in the
morning and if He does I'll still see you in the great morning.

This needs to be put where I can find it.
Yesterday I had to go to Helens post to search but missed this.
If I read in the day then it does not come up at night when I
sign off as unread topic, if you understand what I mean.
