Inspirational Quotes

The Bible is the story of two
gardens: Eden and Gethsemane. In the first, Adam took a fall. In
the second, Jesus took a stand. In the first, God sought Adam.
In the second, Jesus sought God. In Eden, Adam hid from God. In
Gethsemane, Jesus emerged from the tomb. In Eden, Satan led Adam
to a tree that led to his death. From Gethsemane, Jesus went to
a tree that led to our life. Max Lucado

Many people think that the mark
of an authentic Christian is doctrinal purity; if a person’s
beliefs are biblical and doctrinally orthodox, then he is a
Christian. People who equate orthodoxy with authenticity find it
hard to even consider the possibility that, despite the
correctness of all their doctrinal positions, they may have
missed the deepest reality of the authentic Christian life. But
we must never forget that true Christianity is more than
teaching – it is a way of life. In fact, it is life itself. “He
who has the Son has life,” remember? When we talk about life, we
are talking about something that is far more than mere morality,
far more than doctrinal accuracy. Ray C
Stedman

Christianity is a rich tapestry that has many extreme
personalities within it from hermit type monks who study without
thought for others to the "end of the world" sandwich-board men
so we should fit in there somewhere. However those without Jesus
are not Christians and simply living a Jesus friendly life does
not make us a Christian because Jesus has to be on the inside
for that to happen

The most critical need of the church at this moment is men, bold
men, free men. The church must seek, in prayer and much
humility, the coming again of men made of the stuff of which
prophets and martyrs are made. A. W. Tozer
This is just as relevant today as it ever was.

Love Mr Tozer; I think the relevance lies in "come follow me"
and what that brings forth in each life; if it's apostleship or
martyrdom or raising Godly children or working in the
marketplace; if it's done as unto the Lord that's "come follow
me"stuff.

Good comments Dave, and I think in today's church it isn't just
the men who need to step up but the bold and free women too.
