Another encounter in a coffee shop ...

Here's the account of another of my encounters in a coffee shop
...
A little background - I have an ambition to pray for someone who
uses a walking stick and for them to not need the stick
afterwards.
I was in a supermarket cafe one lunch time and I saw an elderly
woman walk in. The first thingI noticed was the walking stick.
I thought - here's a "target" - I wonder if she'll let me pray
for her.
I was musing on this as she carried her tea over to the table
just in front of me. I heard a phrase "had a bereavement",
quite clearly. (I heard it inside - not audibly).
I use the principle "it take faith to hear God" when trying to
discern God's voice. This sounded a bit too clear and took
little faith, so I wasn't sure whether it was from God or the
enemy trying to put me off.
I struggle with talking to people like this. It has got easier
over time, but its never as easy as walking away, so I hd to
make the decision whether to talk to her or not. I got up to
leave and only made the decision when I walked past her table.
I said to her "Hello, would you mind if I sat down for a little
chat?" She replied, "I'd rather you didn't, I've had a
bereavement." Gulp!
So I quickly introduced myself (I'm a Christian I go to church
every week) and I think God has something to say to you: "God
would like you to know that He loves you very much and that He
knows all about your loss and thatHe is there for you." (Or
something like that).
She told me that she was also a Christian, that she goes to
church every week and that she really appreciated me passing by.
This story had quite an effect on me. That God would use a
verbally clumsy oaf like me to carry a message to one of His
beloved is humbling and encouraging in equal measure. Then I
thought as I was driving back to work - I'm one of His beloved,
too.

There I was right with you and waiting for the end of the story
as you prayed for her and she threw away the stick.
HH you've got guts, more power to your elbow!!

I wish - I've yet to claim a stick! Its just a matter of time
.... I hope.

That's really encouraging and what a blessing that God used you
to encourage another whilst encouraging you at the same time..
