       Hi Brad...good to see you.
I for one often don't always agree with everyone else's
position all the time. We can either get huffy or think it is
       fun,
I like to be " made to think". I get bored if every thing is
       always "sweetness and light" .
I hate rudeness or sarcasm...but thrive on "chewing over "
certain points in our Christian life.
We are very diverse , but I find that is good. We have all
travelled different paths which have shaped us ...hopefully for
       the good.
Most of us have "challenges" on our life..so online
fellowship helps us to connect and gives us a lift.
Personally. , over decades of rubbing shoulders with brethren
and sisters in the faith...I find I am probably closer in the
spirit to those who I have clashed with most!! I find that
talking through a difference of opinion has so often brought our
hearts closer. ( even while still not seeing eye to eye in the
       issue ha! )
Everyone is on the same journey all headed the same way.
       ;D
       Every blessing.....H

I don't fear returning Mike, I have left churchs before because
too many of the people in charge, refused to be led by the Holy
Spirit, refused to be healed of their prejudices and hatreds,
and only want people who will help promote an increase in church
growth, so that their control of others increase. Its not a
healthy thing to promote, better to let the dead take care of
the dead. Anyone not led by the Holy Spirit and Its Light will
walk in darkness and we can only hope and pray that one day they
will see that Light and see that it is better than power over
others. The intellectual religious jews had better
understanding of scripture than the disciples ever did, but
intellect didn't help them at all, only being led by the Holy
Spirit (on them, not in them like we are gifted with) allowed
the disciples to become more Christlike.
Helen, I don't get bored with sweetness and light unless its
fake, which I know sometimes people use to manipulate others.
As to chewing over points in our faith, that doesn't bother me
as long as its done with respect and kindness.
Thanks for the welcome Pat, James, Mike and Helen. Will check
out more and share as led!!

In respect of previous forums, where I've had admin status, I
used to promote the site, much in the same was as churches
       promote themselves in various ways.
But I don't think that they, (and I hope and pray that the same
would true of me if I every again had admin responsibility)
promote for the purpose of "control".
Just that we don't want to see a fellowship shrink through
       natural 'fall off'.
I expect you think (as does Amadeus) that God alone will give
the increase, but that view would prevent evangelism in all
forms including Gospel campaigns and preaching.
Maybe there should be a 'balance', and in my personal walk I do
indeed rely on God's leading, especially in respect of who I
meet day by day and find natural opportunity to verbally
       witness.
We are exhorted, as 'lights', to be "on a hill" so that we can
be a better part of God's work in expanding the kingdom of
       heaven.
Thanks for causing us to examine these things.

I do agree with John that God gives the increase. The sower
sows the seed, and upon the faith of the sower, God will judge
the increase to come or to stagnate. We are responsible to sow
regardless of what happens afterwords, so it doesn't deter the
       faithful from witnessing.

       Amen, absolutely.
I hope I didn't appear to suggest otherwise.

Thanks John, that makes four sites we both frequent. :D No
doubt you go to even more. How do you keep up? But you are a
blessing to many, God sees and is pleased.

Brad, I like the term 'frequent'.
Old age finds me craving internet fellowship more and more and,
feeling uncomfortable in most sites, (unlike you multiple
forumites) I rely, for my fellowship, on frequent posting to
       'Living Waters'.

For me, I don't get as easily uncomfortable at sites that might
do so to you. We all have our faults, so I expect most sites
to have problems at times. I just sorta balance out the good
with the bad, and keep quiet when its my version of bad (what
entails the description of bad changes from person to person).
As long as the site administrators and moderators are fair and
       equitable normally, I will stay.

       You are very lucky/blessed.
I wish that I were as even minded as that.
I invariably used to get embroiled when faced with posts that
didn't sit well with me, and the result was often not very
       Christ-like (as you well know).
That's why I'm so much happier to be involved, without admin
responsibility, in a site of limited but respected membership.
I guess that my Achilles heel, being that of a liberal
modernist, would always be a problem but, with the help of God
and the membership, maybe I can exist peacefully as per my
       signature line.
