Happy new year
By: Rita Date: December 31, 2022, 1:13 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I always find New Year’s Eve reflective, looking back but also
looking forward. For me it’s saying goodbye to a difficult year
, and the new year feels like the start of more freedom with the
choices I can make. I can be a better grandmother, mum because I
am no longer having to prioritise my dad. It’s the last full
year of work , if the Lord allows ( well none of us truly know )
So I am pleased to shut the door on 2022.
Once again the Lord answered so many of my inner prayers and
eased many fears with regards to how things would pan out with
my dad. Looking back I was rock bottom most of the time and just
hanging on ………
Thank you for being my brothers and sisters, and remaining in my
life as you walked with me even when I was not interacting much
- i value the friendship we have had for so many years now ….
2023 will be different for each of us, but I do pray it will be
one that you all know that The Lord is with you, even if you are
barely hanging on within the circumstances and situations you
face xxxxx

Well said Rita.
For me ‘22 wasn’t a bad year ….I turned 80 , and health was
good which was much better than ‘21 when I had a bad year and
struggling health issues.
I got bad lab results at the beginning of this last month
of ‘22 , but praying that it’s not too late to improve those
labs by eating a strict kidney diet . ( which made Christmas
VERY boring…who enjoys just veggies and a little fruit when
chocolate and exciting stuff is all around!![emoji20])
But, needs must.
I too have greatly enjoyed the shoulder to shoulder
fellowship with all of you as we walk the path together toward
the ‘Celestial City ‘…
God bless everyone …may you all be blessed by the felt presence
of our Lord during 2023. x

Here we are another year departing, for me I enter the next one
with still unanswered questions and prayers from the old one,
example, (like, do I get my squash racquet restrung and why the
'font thing' is still an unresolved issue and why it only
bothers me!!!!!!!!!;[size=14pt][emoji2] then there's the my lack
of 'shadow' results, weighty matters!!!!!) It's been a blessing
catching up again with Pat and Mike, and also realising that a
lot from the family of God last year went and joined the 'cloud'
My verses for 2023 will be, " Come now,and let us 'reason
together', saith the Lord: If ye be willing and obedient, ye
shall eat the 'good' of the land"
So, 'till the day breaks and the shadows flee away', I say
THANKS to all, visible and invisible, blessings on you and your
house.

Rita, Helen and Dave I have read your posts and I am so glad
that we are still 'together' after all this time, on and off
different forums. You are all my friends and it is good to keep
that contact alive.
This year has been a bit mixed - as years mostly are. We had
the good news of a new baby to be born in March 2023 and then we
had the distressing news about Aimee just before Christmas but
then such wonderful answer to prayer to see her being able to
move again.
I really don't particularly like New year's Eve and usually try
to watch a film or something through the midnight hour - not the
usual TV stuff - or I will read until I hear the fireworks
start.
These Christian groups are a lifeline to me as I never see a
Christian brother or sister face to face. Thank you all for
your friendship over the years.
Mike and James are also included in my New Year greeting.
Happy New Year to all of you.

I do have hope that the new year will be a happy one for you
all, in spite of the lessons of time which indicate that a date
change does not live up to the miracle of a renewed mind.
The words “the life which I now live” come to mind. We each
have the opportunity to live a 'now life' it’s so easy to let
the currents carry us where they will, to take refuge in 'but
what can I do' as if we are without power. Gods throne is
unassailable, his power undiminished, his promises unbroken. Our
trust is in him the eternal loving God and saviour of mankind.
Jesus Christ the Lord, glory!

My New Year resolution each year is just to drink more water.
And I do for a while . . .
