PTL I've been allowed back into this 'Fold'
       By: guest69 Date: February 10, 2021, 11:04 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
An hour ago, assuming that this forum had died, I was about to
ask James (on his other site) if I could be allowed to try to
help re-re-ignite it. But as soon as I looked I found that the
forum had, in fact, become relatively active since I last
       looked.
Very timely for me since I had become so desperately in need of
any form of reasonably active fellowship as a result of my
wife's need for extreme isolation (which impinges on me in equal
       measure).
Please everyone just ease me gently 'back in'.
       Mike.

Me too Mike ...As you, I also thought that maybe this site had
died a death...but about a week ago I got a message on here from
bbyrd009 / Mark....and found that there was indeed life in it
yet! So I took a look.
Amadeus posted a bit on here , but I think he has chosen to
return to CB , which is sad ( if he does still post on here)
I thought the post /thread , that James put up last evening (for
me) was very timely and hit the nail.
True and wise words he spoke ...in essence , we can’t move
forward while always looking over out shoulder ( as Lots wife)
       .....H

Bless you Pat, let's try our best to make this an active 'oasis'
       of spiritual retreat, eh?

Hello old friend! It is a little late in the game for us to
forget that we do have some brothers and sisters in the Lord in
need of just fellowship. We can talk about spiritual things as
well, but nothing wrong with simply saying, hello!

80 years ago my next-door neighbour (a couple of years older
than me) was allowed to take this 6 years 'young' toddler to the
local Saturday morning Children's Cinema club.
We all sang "Here we are again, as happy as can be. All good
       pals and jolly good company"
7 months ago I authored the OP to this thread under a username
       that soon became 'Guest 69'.
Well .... "here WE are again". But are WE "as happy as can be" ?
But then again "who is/are WE"?
I find that there has been no involvement for two months. (Is
that a record for a Christian Forum?)
I guess we've fallen beyond even the branch of Scottish
Presbyterians who became known as "The We Few" !!
However, "Except it is God who rebuilds this house, we labour in
       vain ".
Motivations (all parties) always hold the Key to all unknown.
In the words of the Hymnist.....
"If other hands should hold the Key.
Or if the Key were left to me.
       We might be sad."
       Mike.

There is just one person who thinks 'The Key' was left to him.
And, it seems that the hymnist's projection in his last verse,
is well and truly fulfilled ..."we WILL be sad".

       1
       God holds the key of all unknown, and I am glad;
If other hands should hold the key,
Or if He trusted it to me, I might be sad.
       2
What if tomorrow’s cares were here, without its rest?
I’d rather He unlocked the day,
And, as the hours swing open, say, My will is best.
       3
       The very dimness of my sight makes me secure;
For, groping in my misty way,
I feel His hand; I hear Him say, My help is sure.
       4
I cannot read His future plans; but this I know:
I have the smiling of His face,
And all the refuge of His grace, while here below.
       5
       Enough; this covers all my wants; and so I rest;
For what I cannot, He can see,
And in His care I saved shall be, Forever blest.

I've also just noticed that is was only two months ago that the
forum recorded a record 39 having been on line in one day.
But the ownership appears totally unconcerned about the drop to
the current levels, which have never been more than 2 online
       since I re-joined.
