what is the fruit of the tree of knowledge, and how do we eat it

practically speaking.
and what might that have to do with
He who says he knows anything, does not yet know
?
(and for that matter what is it?)
are all of these connected, somehow?

There is no such tree. The tree mentioned in Genesis is called
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The tree of K of G and E was a tree of God.In the beginning it
as recorded as one of the trees that was good for fruit, but
expressly forbidden to be eaten. I am not going to try to
explain how the first spiritual creation of God looked or indeed
how The Adams, God, and the serpent interacted. The only thing I
do know for sure is that the serpent led the Eve part of Adam
into a lie which convinced her to trust knowledge more than Gods
word.
It could be that there was no power at all in the tree and that
it was the action of taking what was not given by the Lord that
confirmed within the mind of Eve that she wanted to explore Her
Own thoughts rather than believe and live by faith. Since that
time when the nature of fallen Adams was passed to all mankind
we have had the option to live by the faith of God or to believe
our own thoughts from our carnal nature. That is what I believe
is eating of the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil.
We can choose to eat of the tree of life which is the word of
God delivered to all mankind in the living word called Jesus
Christ.
That’s my understanding.

Perhaps it is simply that eating and drinking are very important
things. Everyone participates, but what is it that is good to
eat and what is it that is poison?
"And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they
made ready, he fell into a trance,
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him,
as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let
down to the earth:
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and
wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing
that is common or unclean." Acts 10:10-14
"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and
they shall recover." Mark 16:17-18

I’ve only just noticed this thread.
I don’t believe there is any such thing as a ‘tree’ ...but I
believe it is when we choose our own mind , God gave it to us,
but if we don’t choose the mind of Christ , His ways , His
thoughts , but make ‘our choice’ as the Adams did, we are
‘eating ‘ of that tree , and not eating and drinking of Him
Himself ....
the problem with the Adams was ‘they thought’....which is always
wrong unless God inspired.
My two cents....

Eve was deceived and Adam chose to sacrifice his life to be with
her and regrettably our lives too. I believe the tree was there
because God had angels guard the tree of life in Eden

It’s strange if one sits and thinks of WHY God ‘set up’ the
Adams . For He surely did.
He set the trap (allowed the serpent in the midst of the garden
) ..knowing full well they would fall.
That is one very strong reason why I do not believe in
everlasting torment or continual burning. God set man up, then
sent His Son, not to save 2% and burn 98% ...but to redeem
mankind , and from within that group to call out His Bride. One
who will walk and talk with Him as Adam did before the fall.
If fellowship is wonderful with Him now, what will it be like at
the very end?
No mind can fathom it!
My two cents.....

Hi Helen!
This sounds pretty on. How else could God have given free will?
And BTW-neither do I anymore believe in eternal punishment.
Perish means just that, perish.
