I loved the wide array of instrumentation on this album. A lot
of folk bands right now are kinda falling into a trap of
over-minimalism imo; just an acoustic guitar and vocals, maybe
some drums. But keyboards, jazzy electric guitar, strings, and
horns all add a lot of depth to the mood of the music. The
folksy vocals on this record also complimented sound really
       well.
My favorite tracks were probably Golden Days, The Falls, and
Polly. A lot of the lyrics seems to focus on nostalgia, and I
liked that these tracks really focused in on this theme. They're
all pretty different too: Golden Days has the acoustic guitars
up in the front, and focuses more on melody; The Falls focuses
more on the piano, electric guitars, and drum beat up; and Polly
is the hardest hitting ballad on the album, with the slowest
pace and soft a keyboard lead with a pretty intense buildup. Red
Moon was also a nice touch on the latter half of the record, it
reminded me of the instrumentals from The Glow pt. 2, but warmer
and more produced (though, much less ambitious). I will say that
a few tracks on the latter half sounded a little weaker (e.g. On
My Own, No Matter Where We Go), but no track is by any means
bad. I'm excited to see what this band does next.

Luke if you see this please post what you were telling us after
chapter. Something about how their lyrics were from the
perspective of fame despite the album being their first?

Sorry for such a late response, I saw the forum but was pretty
distracted with midterms a couple weeks ago. What I meant was,
on the album, a main theme is that the lead singer, or whoever
is writing the songs, feels difficulty in the fact that they
can't afford to have a love life, hence "No Woman", due to the
amount of time that they spend on the road. I saw this as
interesting as this was the band's first album, therefore at the
time of the album's recording and release they had not been on
the road yet. Since then I did learn that they had still toured
in the past under a slightly different lineup and name, however,
I still found the prediction of a touring career, or the
willingness to invest in a life of going around the country
playing music before any commercial success. Another update,
they actually just announced their first world tour.
       Unfortunately nothing around Cleveland :(.
