Need help selling 1950s/60s collection
By: JasonSpidey Date: November 29, 2015, 4:44 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Hi there,
First-time poster here. I'm looking to find someone or someplace
in the greater NYC area to sell my father's old O-scale Lionel
set to.
The collection varies from fair to good condition—some
superficial rust on a few of the pieces, but nothing serious.
Mostly, they just look a little weary after five decades in a
basement. Many of them are still in the original packaging,
though the boxes are in various states of conditions (some are
missing their opening flaps, for example).
Some of the highlights:
Locomotives:
#1688E with tender
#1615 with tender
#2365
#2350
Cars:
#6424-60
#6062
#3665
#6477
#3662
Equipment:
Train master Type ZW Transformer (275 watt)
No. 1122 open non-derailing remote control (x2)
Type 1014 multi-volt transformer 40watt
Happy to provide more details, a more complete list or images
upon serious request.
I'm not a big model train guy, so I'm looking to get rid of them
with as little hassle as possible. Ideally, I'd love to find a
single buyer to take the whole collection off my hands at once.
Can anyone recommend a person or place in or around New York
City to speak to?
Thanks!

Jason,
Hello & Welcome to the Forum.
You have some nice trains and shouldn't have any trouble selling
them.
Red Caboose Hobbies is located in NYC, and I suggest that you
contact them.
212-575-0155
They do purchase previously loved trains and/or will give you an
idea of their value.
Hope this helps...
Happy Rails!
Dave

Have you sold this? If not how much are you asking?
