"I've been selfish enough in forcing my presence around her when
I know it causes her pain. I'm surprised she didn't punch me
when I walked into her classroom...but 14 years is a lot of
time..." he said sending a curios look over at Felix he sighed
and shut his eyes.
Felix rolled his eyes and adjusted his glasses "Hmph fine, okay
you little annoying brat seems I get to take over this part of
the story. Which means all accounts are actually accurate even
though I wasn't around for a good part of it."

"Halle and Desmond were in the midst of being a couple, around
that time I was busy testing to switch to here to begin
apprenticing under one of the head scientist and doctors. When
Desmond heard I'd passed my tests he decided the 3 of us should
celebrate. So he stole some beers from the kitchen and we
settled down to drink. I was mostly sober, but those two decided
to compete in a drinking contest and I left before they could
finish." Felix explained, and leaned back on the bench. "Speed
up to a month later and he found out Halle was pregnant. Then I
left a week later to here and from the stupid letters Desmond
sent me they were doing fine and excited for the baby. Not sure
how that worked out as Halle was a pilot and I never cared to
ask and he never mentioned it."
"We were in the last month of her pregnancy, happily excited and
scared. She'd been taken off from piloting while pregnant and
it was during that time she was offered a future teaching
position and started studying for that. I on the other hand
spent my time learning various trades." Desmond said and looked
at the ceiling. "She went into a somewhat early labor and was
rushed to the medical bay, it felt like forever but she gave
birth..." he trailed off and shut his eyes. "There's a reason
you don't hear about ATF Human births, the AT Field of the
mother perceives the child as a threat, as the child carries its
own AT Field. The mothers AT Field slowly kills the child. By
then the child is dead at birth and disposed of. The knowledge
isn't widespread because the life expectancy of an ATF Human is
relatively shorter than a normal humans. There are no recorded
evidences of a ATF Human giving birth successfully." Felix
finished and nodded over at Desmond. "Halle was devastated, they
didn't even bother telling us the gender...probably better that
way to not know...I left her. Two days later I was packing my
things and returned to home to Satellite 7, didn't leave her
note or say goodbye. I just...had to...well it doesn't matter. I
made the choice and lived with it for 14 years, traveling from
place to place, doing off jobs here and there and avoiding Seele
and Halle."
Felix smiled "And despite all that here you are. Somehow
forgiven for walking out on her. Seeing the two of you together
again is the most comical event, it's as though you both are
just ignoring the dead elephant in the room. Such a foolish girl
Halle is." he chuckled softly and stood up. "I'm a selfish man
Felix, I want to be near her, 14 years of wandering and
searching and being near her is all I want." he muttered. "Oh
Desmond don't think I don't suspect part of the reason you've
made this magical return into her life. You try to tempt the
fates in your favor but I can assure you that they have long ago
stopped answering. Continue to keep your secrets." he said and
left the gym.

Leon listened wide eyed and balancing on a line of disgust and
sorrow. Desmonds actions were not justified to Leon and he sort
of lost respect for the man who sat in front of him but as a
couple he felt sorry for Desmond and miss Halle. Leon watched
quietly as Mr Felix left the Gym "what does he mean by secrets
Mr. Desmond? you're not going to hurt miss Halle again are
you.....because to be honest.....she's the closest thing i have
to a mother. as an AT human life is already down the
drain.....but to lose a child and then have the one you love
leave without notice........." he quieted himself and looked
away.

"To be honest kid the potential of Halle getting hurt is there.
There are things in motion that she doesn't know about. Things
I'm still discovering." he said, sighting softly and opening
his eyes. "I'm in too deep to do anything but follow the flow of
events and continue doing what I set out to do. Bad things are
coming kiddo and I can only assume you and your friends will be
at the heart of it. The worst thing you can do in life is
abandon the ones you care about..."

Leon didn't respond to him and quietly went back to sparring
with the dummy.

Desmonds words picked at his brain and he punched the dummy a
little harder than he intended "what do you mean were at the
heart of it all? what are you here to do?" Leon said in
frustration which was unlike him. it could be the alcohol still
in his system.

(Ah sorry was getting the other side caught up on events)
Desmond looked up from the book he was reading, a frown settled
on his face as he thought about what to say. "Those are things I
can't discuss, and even if I did knowing wouldn't change
anything."

Leon ran a hand through his hair and sighed "is there anything
you can tell me? you're losing mad trust points with me."
