explain Dr. Aberforths comments earlier today" she thought.
"Weird they seemed to be getting along just fine so far, think
they might be pretending?" she said quietly.

Halle shrugged and looked away "Obviously he couldn't handle
what happened, I don't blame him, not completely that is. There
wasn't going to be a future between us and that only confirmed
it. Hated me enough to run away for 14 years, and I hated
myself." she rubbed her eyes and swore softly. "What happened
wasn't your fault Halle, I am certain Desmond knows that as
well." she shrugged again. "Desmond is an idiot but he isn't
completely dumb," she paused, chuckling at Joshuas smirk. "Okay
yes he doesn't have a great track record, I mean when we first
met I held him hostage and threatened to murder him with my
sword and the idiot just stands there with this dopey look.
Hitches a ride to Seele, followed me about and got punched
nearly every day for it...but he really showed me he cared. He
protected me from execution and gave me a reason to change."

listen. Her eyes widened slightly as the story continued.

Rai raised his eyebrow at the word "execution" and was rather
surprised how different Halle was in the past from now. "No, I
don't think they are pretending, this just confirms that Halle
and Desmond were in relationship before. It sorta make sense
from what the chef told Leon... But what was it that made them
go apart 14 years ago?" He whispers to the girls as he continued
to listen carefully, grateful that he listened to Mr. Dubois and
Leon's conversation as it became useful.

"Whoa, I can't picture her doing something so bad to be killed.
Her and that idiot in a relationship yeah but whoa." she said in

"Aye, I remember that. Trying to kill Genève wasn't your best
moment." he said thoughtfully. She slammed her cup on the table
"They used Tommy, put a bomb in his unit and used him without
him knowing. She deserved the near death I wish I'd finished the
job." she leaned back in her chair. "Hmph but Desmond stopped
them from killing me and for that I changed, to become stronger
and a more capable pilot. Somehow my change meant Desmond could
get himself into trouble and me and Felix had to tag along and
bail him out of it...even though Felix disliked the both of us."
Joshua nodded "Yes Felix has always been more focused on his
studies, when he transferred here he never seemed to make
friends or care for any of the others." he added absently.
"That's Felix, but it was a good grouping...until we all got
drunk celebrating his apprenticeship. God I was stupid to get
sucked into a drinking contest with Desmond, but everything was
going so great. Desmond and I becoming a couple, Felix going
towards a job he wanted and Desmond finding his own place. So
good until that damn day and then I discovered I was pregnant."
she fell silent for a bit and stared at the ceiling.

Mitsuki shook her head lightly at what they were hearing. "Its
a hard thing to imagine.......wait.....did she just say what i
think she said." She mumbled in a hushed whisper.

Rai couldn't believe what he was hearing either, but his eyes
widen at the last part. "Your kidding me... Did she really..."
He trailed off quietly.

"Wow! She's never mentioned a kid, I've never seen one who looks
like her, but maybe it looks more like Desmond." she rambled
quietly, eyes wide.

"I really don't blame him, I do but I don't and it's hard. I
needed him so badly but he left, he left me alone and if it
wasn't for my teaching apprenticeship I don't know where I would
be." Joshua watched her silently. "Halle, child, it wasn't your
fault. You didn't know at the time." he said and took her hand.
"Does it matter, I was pregnant with his child and I killed it."
she said flatly and squeezed her eyes shut. "When you think
about it, it makes sense huh. You don't really ever see my kind
in happily ever afters, with a lover and children. We die way
before we can even think of such things. But I found love, I had
Desmond and when I got pregnant and was taken off duty for the
duration I thought this would be it, the hope of a good future.
Instead my child died before it could take its first breath. My
own AT Field saw my child as a threat to my body and killed it.
Desmond left without a word goodbye, I want so badly to hate him
but why bother when I had enough hate for myself. God, he must
have thought of me as some kind of child killing monster...."
she trailed off and bit back a sob as she covered her eyes.
"I won't pretend to know the reason why he left Halle, but I'd
like to think I know that boy well enough to know that he
doesn't think of you as a monster." Joshua said and poured some
more whiskey. She sighed softly and picked up her cup "Maybe
it's better I didn't have the child he or she would probably be
somewhere near Tomoko's age, probably forced into piloting. How
could I ever be happy bringing a child into a world like this."
