She nodded "Ok then. Planet Earth has gone through 3 impacts,
the last two which have helped shape the world. Before 3rd
Impact Earth was learning to deal with the after effects of
second impact which helped ruin Earths climates, sea levels had
risen and many land masses were lost and along with other
natural disasters it cut the entire worlds population by a half.
Then the Earth was still habitable and man kind began to bounce
back and learn to adapt to the new climates and changes." Halle
explained as she kept writing. "Then of course we have 3rd
Impact which mankind had been unable to prevent despite its best
efforts...all living beings were wiped clean from the Earth and
the planet was left in the state it is currently in now. A red
atmosphere, completely unlivable and desolate." she set the
chalk down and turned around. "Now from the records we were able
to get, all living things possess an AT Field and when 3rd
Impact struck it destroyed that which was the main cause of our
destruction. Any questions so far?"

The door to the room opened carefully. A raven locked girl
slipped into the back of the room. Over her years at the
school, she was almost never late, but today was one of those
rare days.

Leon stayed quiet, his eyes lazily glances over to Mitsuki as
she walks in rather late but other than that nothing.

"Oh Mitsuki, how unusual for you to be so late. Well we're doing
a bit of review so grab a seat in front of Leon or Tomoko." she
said and smiled at the other. "To move on as humanity began to
return it brought with it the new evolution of human beings. Now
everyone has their own AT Field but the main difference between
an ATFH and a human is the ability to manifest the inner AT
Field into the physical world, much research has gone into why
this is possible but no conclusive evidence has been discovered.
Any solid evidence that could be found probably lays behind the
ever mysterious Tokyo Impact."
"Of course that area is well protected by an impenetrable AT
Field of its own so until your little head thinkers find a way
past it, it will remain a most wonderful mystery!" a male voice
said from the door. "Anyone classed as an ATF Human has been
found within that area and only then does a small portion of the
barrier go down to ensure retrieval by a carrier unit." he came
into the room, dressed in black button down and jeans he sent
the class a fox like grin. Behind the glasses were a pair of
mismatched colored eyes, one brown and the other a dark red.

Hearing Leon she rolled her eyes and looked at the man
curiously. "Can't be a new student, too old. Hmph probably just
another scientist transferred here." she thought and flipped her
notebook open to take a few random notes.

Halle frowned at the interruption and seeing who it was made the
frown more pronounced "Desmond what are you doing
here...interrupting my class?" she questioned and crossed her
arms. "Oh no one told you? I'm gonna be living here now.
Unofficial work, checking papers, escorting, intern stuff
nothing fun! Now aren't you going to introduce me to your
class?" heading to the front he perched on the edge of her desk,
ignoring the glaring woman behind him. "Class this is Desmond
Godrun, no official title somewhat of a free lancing hobo." he
placed a hand over his heart and pouted "My dear you wound me, I
simply go around the bases and help out here and there no need
to spread lies. Well as she said I'm Desmond, human, 30, jack of
all trades, handsome, single and I'll be hanging around the base
for a while attending to boring grown up things." he added.
"Right, well as he said Tokyo Impact is quite the mystery but
very important since it was the very center area of 3rd Impact
and once a way inside is discovered anything found there will
probably important to the advancement of humanity. That is one
of Seele's goals, as we are the main research and army base."
she said, continuing on with the lesson. "Through steady
research mankind was able to turn United into a livable
sanctuary, from there study went into making the Bronze class
units, unmanned robots that are used to carry goods, retrieval
missions and communication between the bases spread in the solar
system. Studies turned to making these robots into machines that
could be used to defend the bases from any opposing threat and
that is where the Gold class units come in, utilizing AT Fields
and pre-Impact technology. That is why this base is important.
All of our brave pilots reside here training and ready to defend
against our enemies!" she finished and smiled. From his spot
Desmond waved an imaginary flag "Yeah go team!"

Leon sarcastically did the same as Desmond but twirled his
finger "woo hoo" leon shook his head "I've always wanted t die
for a cause thats not my own" he said mostly to himself.

Tomoko absently began sketching her Unit in the corner of her
notes, barely glancing up when she heard Desmond cheer and Leon
mumbling to himself.
