       flint rod and steel striker

       Three things make fire and three only. Heat, Fuel, and oxygen.
       Our air is %21 oxygen so that is taken care of. However, blowing
       on a fire insures a good supply of fresh oxygen.  Fuel is
       anything that burns. Char cloth, vasoline soaked cotton balls,
       pine sap, twigs, the list goes on...  The flint rod and steel
       striker should be in everyones kit.  Cheap, last fovever, and
       has no moveing parts to go bad.  Just put the tip of the Rod
       into the fuel and strike with the steel. Sparks will light your
       tinder and you have the start of a life saveing fire.
