       Riding the storm out.

If you are heading for the hills, just what are you looking for
in a location. No one place is optimal for all situations.
With that in mind, what is everyone's thoughts about this? Do
       you have a plan ?

Cabin in mts. With either a man made or natural cave. Would
       cover most
       Events.

A 50 foot steel hulled Ocean going sailboat comes to mind. This
option has been looking better all the time.

I believe there are a lot of variables in each situation and to
cover them all you need to remove some of those variables and
narrow them down to realistic needs and abilities and optimal
situational outcome. We all have the things and perfect scenario
planning that we want to happen and succeed with but the realist
has to plan the outcome that is inevitable and has the highest
success rate with uncontrollable variables. Things to consider
where is the region you live in, what natural resources are at
your disposal, have these natural resources been advertised
commercially. If so and you plan on using these resources what
will be the likely outcomes for pros and cons and first before
all of this what is the starting plot of your doom, economic
collapse, nuclear fallout, pacification of foreign or domestic
entity or biological epidemic. Lots of variables and the more
planning that is needed, which is why when your sitting around
watching Jericho (which is a badass show) take a journal and
some maps along with a little web research and lay out your
       architect for survival.

Jericho is a great show. Lets me know that a town is not where I
want to be. Even when you are in charge someone bigger comes in
and takes over. Some events like an epidemic or economic
collapse might be weathered at home just fine. Hunker down and
wait it it out. Fascists regime change, you have to get out or
       fight.
Lacking the 50 foot steel hulled sail boat, I do have the
ability to be a nomadic Kayaker! I will have to do something
       about the Orange color.

Yeah the town scenario is a complete bust in my book, not only
do you have to worry about the ones that your supposed to know
turning into Brutus but the town is a large beacon for more to
come. I like the nomadic kayaker reference that sound like a
wise choice, kinda like a hobo of the water ways. I believe the
best survivalists are those who can blueprint their entire plan
for thriving without getting tunnel vision towards a singular
goal but has the ability to overcome the obstacles of plan A
       plan B survivalists.
