Can't wait to try it out. I wonder if car and track formats from
first and second GT are matching. If so - a tool that could pack
GT's DATs back would be awesome. As well as the tool that could
unpack and pack back GT2.VOL - I do miss Special Stage Route 11
in GT2.

I don't have GT2 right now to check it out but if it's similar
file to STREAM.DAT in first GT then it should contain all the
videos from the game, and the only thing I can think right now
is to use some video ripper like PsxMC just to rip those videos.
By the what you trying to do with STREAM.DAT put custom videos?

Most likely they're using different structure, at least I'm sure
about the car's cause I looked at decompressed GT2 car and
couldn't see anything similar to GT car's. Don't know about the
tracks haven't check that out yet. Making similar tools for GT2
as I did for GT wont be more difficult than it was with GT tools
cause I have some experience from the first game.

I see, if GT2 use some sort of standard psx .STR videos you
could use avi2str to convert your .AVI to .STR but still then
you'll have to find a way to put that .STR back to STREAM.DAT.
