       Think before you leap

Why do people not follow this proverb, "Think before you leap,"
and open their mouths no matter who is next and what his/her
reaction would be? I don't like blunt people, and have faced
this situation during the washington dc to niagara falls

/>where the boy was disobeying his grandparents. They get hurt
from his bad words, and this was quite disappointing. What will
you do in that kind of situation?

I totally understand how that would feel, seeing someone speak
so rudely, especially to elders, is really upsetting. In a
situation like that, I would probably stay calm but try to show
some gentle support to the grandparents, maybe by changing the
topic or helping them feel respected. Sometimes, silence is
better than reacting directly, especially if the person is not
ready to listen. But I really believe that respect and kindness
should never be forgotten, no matter where we are or who we are
with. Being kind doesn’t cost anything, and it means a lot.
