Dear Coronavirus,
Or should I say COVID-19 you have yourself visible, you travel
to more places than I have in my lifetime. You started at a
small place in China and then you took over the entire world
basically. When I heard about you in February but I thought of
nothing. Then weeks passed and you were everywhere. When I mean
everywhere I mean the entire world. You became a meme for a
second at first I took it as a joke. I'm not going to lie. Later
I heard you in the news and you came to the United States
without our permission. March Friday the 13 came, President
Trump has announced “National emergency”. At that moment I
realize that you're a toxic pandemic, a real issue and you got
all the attention you wanted. Many people are suffering, are
dying, we’re just so angry just go away. I doubt you have any
sympathy for us humans. People fear for their life every single
day because no matter where they’re going they might encounter
you.
Let me list some things that I’ve learned about you in these
couple of weeks. Some symptoms of cough fever, tiredness and
difficulty breathing. In addition I learn that there is no cure
for you. Don’t laugh because we are coming for you, you're going
to be invisible. We’re going to fight back no matter how many
times we fail. You broke so many people's hearts and we’re to
break you apart. Furthermore, cancel everything in the world
such as graduations for class of 2020, education, games, etc. I
want to go back to being normal. I’m stuck at home because of
your phone I don’t know what to do. Online school is kind of
boring. Something else I learned is that I am a really lazy
person. Everyone is practicing social distancing so no more
people are going to get sick. Don’t get too comfortable honey!
Sincerely,
Luz Casiano

Dear ms Coronavirus,
Your arrival has really had an impact on us but
probably not the one that you expected. Not to be rude but we
really hope that you leave soon and don’t come back. We
have heard that you come from China and sadly people
aren’t having good reactions. This has led to people being
rude to Asians saying that you came because of them and it
isn’t fair that they get blamed for something they had no
control over. What I’m saying is that the Sooner you
leave, we have one less problem. Another thing you have caused
is fear and not the type where you’re scared of spiders
but the fear of even leaving our homes. This fear started when
we noticed that many people in Europe, Asian, and South America
were getting sick and even dying. You may just tell us to go to
the doctors but it isn’t as easy as it seems. Because many
are getting severely sick, there isn’t really the right
amount of doctors to help. But lucky many doctors are
volunteering and traveling to other countries hoping to save
others from you. Now that you have arrived here in America,
we’re taking a lot of precautions such as distancing
yourself from others at least 6 feet when going out, hand
sanitizers being sold out in so many stores, for some reason
toilet paper is also being sold out even though you affect us in
our lungs, and even staying inside our homes for up to a month.
But someone who you are really affecting is the elderly. They
are at a higher risk of getting a visit from you due to their
weak immune system and many don’t realize that although we
buy stuff for us to be protected, we also have to think about
them. As for us teenagers we can’t go out anymore, we have
online classes which are both good and stressful due to all the
work, and we feel like we don’t really have much to do
inside all day. It’s gotten to the point where we actually
want to go to school. However there are some good things about
you and it impacts the earth. Ever since you arrived we have
noticed changes in our air and our water. There has actually
been less air pollution now that we are stuck inside our homes,
our skies are clear I’m some places, there has been a
little less water pollution and even our animals are getting
benefited. For example animals in the zoo are being kept free to
walk around and visit other exhibits. I see this as a good thing
because those animals have been engaged for such a long time and
now this is the freedom they are getting after a long wait.
Another great thing is that the air pollution has decreased. For
example, In China there has been a massive decrease from 2019 up
to 2020. Overall ms coronavirus we would gladly appreciate you
leaving and you entering our lives has really taught us a
lesson.
Sincerely, Jennifer Lala

Dear Corona,
How does it feel to be the most talked about in the
world right now? everywhere I go, your name is mentioned. I'll
give it to you, you're very strong and you're nothing to mess
with. You have killed hundreds of thousands of people these past
few months. I just have a couple questions for you. First off,
what was the real reason why you are here? who is responsible
for your existence? What made you want to kill so many innocent
people? And why haven't you left? Being home has its pros and
cons. Yes I enjoyed spending time with my family and not having
to wake up early and eating whenever I please, but I do miss my
friends and being at school. Feeling like i'm trapped inside of
my home is the worst feeling. Thank you for messing up my sleep
schedule. On the other hand, the Earth is much cleaner air wise
than it was a few months ago. At the end of the day, I hope we
find a way to defeat you and beat you at this horrible game you
are playing with us.
sincerely,
Saniya Stepney

Dear Corona,
You are what we call an anti hero. You have killed 101,732
people as of lately. You've brought the elderly to an early
death where their own family couldn't even see them in their
last breath, you have ended the chapter for those who just began
to get a stable life, they maybe even just had kids and had to
leave them behind with a crestfallen widow or widower. You have
even stopped the beating hearts of natural fighters who have
already undergone past medical conditions. The public fears you
corona, they hide at home as each day we don't know which person
in our family or even a neighbor could be tested positive with
your disease. Your mere presence has caused a commotion in our
community as many run to grab hand sanitizer, face masks, etc. I
must admit though, it's sad how people just now are reacting to
this situation, I guess it's our fault. After all, we chose to
ignore your red flags when you walked through Wuhan without a
second glance, and even then when you landed here we shrugged it
off.
But as you may know, an anti hero often follows the role of a
hero, but with some flare. You used death and threats to save
this floating rock, Earth, while reigning terror on its
inhabitants. New York was once a lively city, we weren't called
the city that never sleeps for nothing. But even then we have
hidden in our homes, while you have done your work in silence.
Around 50 percent of typical emissions of carbon monoxide have
declined in our atmosphere. Not only New York has experienced,
but places like Florida have also undergone this decrease in air
pollution. Even Venice has experienced clearer waters as of
recently. Corona you are an anti hero, whether your motives are
unclear you still are an anti hero. You may not be doing good
for us, but something else benefits, that being the environment
we've abused for so long. I don't mean to say you should stay,
you've killed many and that's unforgivable. But what I am saying
is that you are bad to us but not to Earth. You don't follow the
usual justice based way as you rebel and go about it in your
way.I don't know whether to respect or fear your impact, but
either way you must go.
-From, Ariana Reyes.

Dear CoronaVirus,
Your arrival has caused many dilemmas worldwide and in my
community and I do not appreciate that at all.Even though there
has been less pollution since you’ve been here, your virus still
causes many problems, such as food and water running out in
supermarkets, businesses/companies closing down,
schools/colleges have been shut down, and most of all people are
dying. People are going crazy out here because they are trying
to stay safe but are taking it too far by buying many bottles of
hand sanitizers, masks and gloves. And people are also going
crazy because they’re trying to buy a lifetime supply of food
and water since we’re all QUARANTINED!! There have been many
fights where people would fight over food and water or they
could be fighting because a person is too close to them and they
don’t want to sick from your deadliness. Nowadays if a person
sneezes, the people around you won’t even say bless you anymore.
Instead they will be disgusted and assume that you’re infected.
Now we have a curfew which isn’t doing anything to benefit
citizens in society because they are so hard headed and stubborn
that they stay out past curfew, which causes them to go to jail
for a week. See what you being here has done!! Because of you we
might face another Great Depression with the rate that our food
and water supply is going. Because of you some of us might run
out of jobs and won’t be able to make money. Because of you
people make rude and disrespectful comments towards those that
are part of a different religion or culture (ie. Muslim or
Hispanic) because we think that they were the ones that bought
it here. Because of you our schools have shut down and we’re all
worried that we won’t take our regents or move forward to our
junior year. Because of you students that are seniors won’t be
able to experience or have their senior year. Because of you we
can’t go outside to hang out with our friends and family.
Because of you we’re all super paranoid about getting your
sickness. Because of you we’re all scared to be around our loved
ones cause we’re afraid that we might catch it. Because of you
we are losing loved ones to your virus. Because of you our world
might be destroyed. I hope you’re happy with the impact that
you’ve made on us and the world.
Sincerely, Genesis Stanley

I like how you expressed your feelings towards Corona but also
incorporated how other people might be feeling during corona.
Also you pointed out positive aspects in which Corona has given
us.
