Dear Corona:
You have changed our way of living tremendously. I want from
traveling to school by subway seeing everyone in routine to
empty trains and streets. I went from seeing my teachers in
person to learning virtually online. My atmosphere has been
effective. Outside looks like The Walking Dead. The cloudy
weather doesn't make it any better nor does the sirens piercing
the empty streets. The news doesn't lightly the load either. And
the poor souls we loss to you Corona I really underestimated
you. I took you for a joke and you left me with no laughter. You
are a gift and a curse. Since your arrival I have been isolated
from the real world. I know I am not alone which helps a little
but it is still a lot to process. It's like a new world order.
You are so powerful. The sound of your name gives me chills,
it's like when I was younger and if you mentioned Candy Man
three times in the mirror he would appear. Only difference is
you are knocking at random people doors who didn't request your
presents. You are targeting the weak and breaking down the
strong. You are wiping out generations all at once. Our elderly
is forced to survive with memories of their love ones, and
provided comfort from our doctors and nurses. The gift you gave
the world was the opportunity to love more, to give more, to
appreciate what you have and not to focus on what you don't. You
brought oxygen to the trees, you brought sunlight to the sun,
you brought chirping back to the birds. Mother Nature is
cleansing the impurity us humans have left upon her. She is
cleansing her world and letting us know who she truly belongs
to. At this present time ones race doesn't matter, nor if you
are rich or poor. You snatched away what we thought was
important and made us realized what really is. I love you for
that, Corona. I have been able to bond with my family more. I am
learning more things about me. I am actually breathing in the
air and allowing the rays of the sun to glaze my face even if
it's from the window. I have taking time out to get to know, ME.
Thank you, Corona.
