super mario bros: the evolution of bowser

ok, so i've played enough mario games (old and new) to know that
bowser fights have drastically changed over the years. like,
here let me explain.
in the original release of super mario bros, all you ever had to
do to beat bowser was sneak under him and hit the switch at the
end. simple as that. and it didnt change at all throughout the
game, as far as i can remember. single-phase bowser fights
similar to this were also in other mario games: for a very, very
long time. but in recent years, that has changed completely. let
me explain.
it seems nintendo decided it was time for bowser to have new
era. im guessing they thought single-phase fights were too easy,
or getting old; idk. but, when new super mario bros wii came
out, that was the first time i encountered this: a second bowser
phase, where bowser is much bigger, stronger, and you're pretty
much forced to run away from him, until you find the big switch
at the end. i noticed this was the same with all the other newer
mario games: bowser has two phases instead of just one. i
actually liked this change; it was pretty fun doing it and
watching him come after me, lol. plus, with the good improvement
of the graphics, that makes it even cooler to watch.
just thought i'd share this, cuz i know some people like to hear
video game history. and i personally think that bowser fights
are improving, by the looks of things. getting more exciting
too. ^_^
