       Strength when we need it most

       There are going to be days in life when even those of us with
       the deepest faith feel like we can't endure through the day. I
       think I understand what Paul meant in Romans 5 when he
       proclaimed that "we also glory in our sufferings, because we
       know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance,
       character; and character, hope." I now think of these difficult
       days as indespensable to my spiritual journey. These are the
       days when my faith is refined, that I develop a deeper trust,
       and more insight into the faithfulness of God. And, believe me,
       I have been in circumstances which I know I couldn't have
       endured in my own strength!
       Check out some of my favorite verses for strength and, like
       Paul, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen
       you with power through his Spirit in your inner being".
