A Guide to
Villains
&& Other Evil Charries
What's the point of an evil character?
Plain and simple, evil, bad*ss characters are great, and I mean
absolutely great, for plots! People like plots, and being a part
of them, especially when it involves a change in high positions,
major battles, and anything else that everyone can be a part of.
What are evil characters' personalities like?
As with all characters, the personality of an evil or villainous
character can vary widely. Generally, they're evil, and often
just plain mean. They might be slightly [or extremely] crazy,
maybe satanic, unstable, or have a mental illness of sorts. Many
evil characters have a reason to be evil as well, and developed
they're bad side through this core reason -- Something that
occurred in their past, or perhaps they're seeking revenge. This
is a key component of creating a truly evil character, as you
want your character to have a backstory, you know, something to
tell. After all, there aren't many who are just born to be bad.
How do you start an evil character?
Well, it depends when you're starting them. You have to decide,
do you want to play your new charrie out from kithood, or are
you going start them off older, at the age of an apprentice or
warrior? If you start young, you'll have more time to develop
their history and personality as you roleplay. But then you'll
have to wait for the action, the battles, the real plots and
villainous-ness.

May I suggest something? C:
When you have an evil cat, it's better for them to have some
sort of history to be the cause of their personlity. If your
evil cat just killed his family because he could, that would be
slightly.. unrealistic? A cat can be born with a malicious
personality, but that doesn't make them evil. A tragedy is
usually the cause of a cat's loss of sanity, but you can be
creative c:
What I'm saying is it's better to start you character off young
and develop their history. They can't just turn evil one day and
become a cold blooded killer. Well, they can, but it's very
unrealistic.

Is this what you meant? Correct me if I'm wrong or
misunderstanding something.

Hmm... somewhat, yes. Must've missed that. My other point was
just because a character has a devilish persona doesn't mean
they're evil.
