That's cool with us , you can continue with your adventure,
Question has a lefroy mini ever won a national title?
If so when and where and who was the sailor and what were the
modifications made and was he,she the only sailor to be not
lapped by other mini,s in that racing event? ::) :P :P

Not sure what you are talking about. I think the lefroy mini is
maybe a bit dated but I think the 5.6m concept would allow
plenty of different design ideas. Personally I am more
interested in building a class5. You seem to be a bit angry with
your answers. :-\

I just had a look at seabrease again. The event at Lefroy looks
like it might have been a great weekend they say some 35plus
yachts attended. must have there act together. Are the biggest
clubs in WA or are there similar clubs on the east coast. If
there is I can not find a site with any info about them

It most probably was a great weekend at Lefroy And there is
plenty more to come , the nationals are to be held next year ,
that will be another great few days , sea breeze is not the be
end or the end all , it is just a point of view on a commercial
forum
Land sailing is a very small sport in Australia , and has very
few people that are prepaired to do any thing most are quite
happy to sit back and whinge , and cause as many problems as
they can .
That is why there is a new National body , the past committee of
the old body couldn't even follow simple rules on the
legalities of running an association. They omitted to even pay
their fee,s !
One would also have to be aware that it was agreed by of the
original management that no asociation business was to put on
Seabreeze as at was deemed as bad place to comunicate as far as
the association was concerned , all it did was cause more
problems as it does to today.
Refer to the guide lines as stated in the New Forum post nothing
has changed ,nor will it .

That's interesting. When I look on the events forum on seabrease
I can see no conflict just people from all over the world
discussing up coming and event results. I thought this was
supposed to be a national association but except that I stumbled
across it while looking for info on land sailing I would not
have known that it existed .
What is the point of this association where the discussion forum
has three people on it including me. At the very least it would
make good sense to at least put up your up cumming events and a
little info about the association on seabrease(not sure if there
is any other site to get the info out on) It would only have to
be informative and not a discussion. You say there is a national
event next year but how can that happen if no one knows about
it. Room for thought don't you think.

The national association will not have anything to do with
Seabreeze . The association has its own website and a Facebook
page . One would assume that that would be enough . Seabreeze
destroyed the last national body!

Well the best of British luck to you, I can not see how an
association can exist if no one knows about it. Another
question, you have quoted a mini class that I can not find any
thing about. The only minis I can find is the 5.6 rope rule that
seems to apply accross the world (Europe,Australia, America)
Where does the class that is mentioned on this site fit into.

Maptco , I see no reference to any mini class on this site as
you state, could you please explain as to what you are referring
to . You would also be able to explain what the ruling is as
you reference as a world wide standard, taking into account that
Australia is not member in any manner or form to any
international body.

I am Lost. In your classes this site refers to mini class 1 2
and 3 as far as I can find out the only mini class recognized by
fisly and nasa is the 5.6 rope rule mini. I think you may find
that the mini class association has members in Australia and
that association is recognized by fisly. This is the info that I
received from contacts that I have obtained in Europe. I may
have got it wrong.

The International Miniyacht Class has been added to the list of
classes that will be contested at the 2014 Worlds in the USA
(www.nalsa.org) . Is there a link for the official rules of the
miniyacht class? Are these rules frozen for a time or are they
subject to change?

Welcome Dennis - In Cherrueix the Miniyacht Class Association
voted for the rules to be frozen for a minimum of 4 years .
Rules are within the FISLY rules in the ISRR -

We have 20 months until the worlds at Smith Creek. Time to start
building some
new yachts. Their are 3 classes we need to build boats for. They
are Promo,
Filsy class 3 and International 5.6 mini's.
The mini's had 90 boats in France this summer for the
championships and more
are probably coming to the US. the rules for the classs are
simple
1. Take a 1/4" rope and make a loop 5.6 meters (220.47 inches)
long. All of your
tires must touch the ground inside this loop.
2. 4.00 x 8 maximum tire size
3. Mast must be round in section (i.e. no wing masts)
Everything else is up to you.
The promo and Class 3 rules are a little more complicated.
The promo class is huge in europe. at a typical weekend event
they might get
100+ yachts and usually have to divide them up into two seperate
fleets.
Class three is the most competitive large boat class in europe
and usually get
30 to 40 boats on the line.

Come on bulid a boat, represent the USA and dice it up on the
race course with
the Euros in 2014.
