She sighed in defeat. "I suppose there isn't anything I can say
that will make it neither good nor bad, but I guess if it's what
you choose then, it's purely your choice." She stopped at a stop
light and looked over at him, blushing brightly. "Not much of a
place to go if you have a date to take home though, eh?"

He grimaced slightly at her words, though he nodded in
agreement. "Yeah, it really isn't...." he sighed. "I guess it's
lucky that I don't really technically date."

She raised a brow and looked back as traffic started moving
again. "Why is that? Not interested? I mean, you can't tell me
you haven't been approached."

"It's not that there's no interest? I mean, yeah I'm
interested," he replied. "But where I work and live don't
exactly inspire take home dates, let alone having the time to
actually find and meet someone." He shifted the food in his lap
and shrugged.

Feeling a little awkward about the conversation anyway, she
nodded and took a sip from her soda. "Makes sense..." she spoke
simply. She didn't say much else after that.

They spent the rest of the ride in awkward silence until she
pulled up to the junkyard. "So uh, thanks again. I really
appreciate the ride. Do you... Wanna eat inside? I mean so that
way you eat now."

She looked over at him, and then down at her food and was about
to decline until her stomach cramped in on itself and left her
no other option. "Um...sure. I guess it would be better. I've
got at least a fifteen minute drive home from here." She shut
the car off and pulled the keys, then grabbed her drink and food
and got out.

He grabbed his keys and walked up to the well-weathered trailer,
unlocking the door after climbing the sterps. "Welcome to
Chateau D'Maxwell," he said dramatically.

She followed him up and grinned. "Home sweet home." she
chuckled, sipping her soda. She looked at the old trailer and
actually admired how it seemed to stand up through all it looked
like it had been through. "So how long have you been living
here?"

door behind them. Despite the outward appearance of the trailer,
the inside was extremely well-kept and clean.
