He nodded and shut the door behind her, then walked her inside,
there again, opening the door to the building. Once they were
in, and seated, they ordered their meal. Heero knew this was the
time to learn more about her, if he just sat there awkwardly
quiet again, he'd end up ruining the whole meal. Where to start
though?

Ami picked up the glass of water that had been poured in front
of her and took a drink. "So," she began, trying not to just
blurt out all her words. "We already know where each other
works, so... what do you like to do?" She looked up at him with
a sheepish smile.

He sat back plainly, hands in his lap and gazing around the
room. He looked over at her when she started speaking and then
looked down at his hands. They were once calloused by constant
machine operating, and have since become smooth and simple hands
of a man. He thought for a moment and then looked up at her.
"When I can, I don't mind doing a bit of motorcycle work."

He shrugged a little and looked back around the room. "Its kind
of like that, I dabble in it more than anything." he looked back
at her and then sat up to the table a little closer. "What about
you?"

"I watch Netflix. A lot." She laughed, bringing a hand to her
face in embarrassment.
"I don't have any handy skills. But if anything, I'm a good
cook. And if I'm honest, I prefer staying in and enjoying time
there rather than going out to a party or anything." She paused
as if realizing her words, and then her eyes widened. "That's
not to say that I'm don't enjoy this at all, because I do, I
mean I am. Sorry." She blushed brightly.

He smirked and nodded. "I believe you." he told her reaching
over and touching her hand reassuringly. "I'm the same way. I'm
not usually out like this, myself. Most days I'm always busy
with detail but I took the day off today so that I could do
something for myself." His eyes met hers.

Ami felt herself calming as she looked into his eyes, and she
smiled back softly. She took his hand in her own and squeezed it
gently. "I'm glad you did," she replied.

His thumb stroked the top of her hand and he kept eye contact
with her, probably the most he's done since they met. "I would
really love to know you more, Amilia." he told her, his voice
soft. "I want a new change in my life...away from the monotony
of the Guard."

Her heart jumped inside her chest wildly as he spoke, keeping
eye contact with her. "I would love that," she whispered back.
