"Glad you like it." he said, and started driving. He wanted to
tell her not to touch the finish but she seemed to be enjoying
it and it didn't bother him near as much as when Relena would
smear her prints all over it. He sat back and paid attention to
the road. "I assume you'll want to change? Or, do you just want
to get dinner?"

"Your assumption would be correct," Amilia chuckled. "Swing by
my place and I can change, then we'll go." She licked her lips
and put her hands back into her lap. "I like the sound of that
Italian place you mentioned."

He nodded. "Okay, that sounds good to me."
Following her directions he took her back to her place, he
pulled up to the location and put the truck in park.
"I'll...uh...you go in and change, clean up, whatever it is you
do, and I'll meet you back out here in fifteen minutes, okay? If
we're going to Italia, I should change too."

She blinked and looked at him, nodding. "Yeah sure, that works,"
she agreed as she unbuckled. She opened her door and looked back
at him. "I'll see you soon." With that she smiled a bit and got
out, shutting the door to walk inside.

Of course, it didn't take him fifteen minutes. Before he had
showed up to pick her up from work, he had stopped by his place
and grabbed a clean outfit that was a bit more fitting of a
'first date' scenario, but when he realized what time it was,
just packed it into a garment bag and tucked it into the back of
his truck. Of course, he knew he could have changed while he
waited, but he didn't for no good reason.
So instead, he pulled away and drove up the street where he
found a gas station to change at. There he slipped into some
dress slacks and a dark grey woolen sweater. He knew it wasn't
the classiest of dress, but it wasn't meant to quite sweep
anyone off their feet, not yet anyway.
When he finished dressing, he got back into his truck and headed
back, waiting out front of Amilia's house for the next seven and
half minutes.

Ami quickly changed out of her work uniform, tossing it in the
basket to be washed later that night, once she returned. She
stood in front of her closet, chewing on her lip as she raked
her eyes over her wardrobe, and thought of what to wear. After a
few moments, she settled on an olive green skirt that fell to
her calves, a wine red off the shoulder blouse, and short black
heels. She ran a comb through her hair and put on a little
mascara and lip gloss, then grabbed a shawl and her clutch
before heading back outside.

Heero leaned over from the front seat and opened his glove
compartment and pulled out a red tin spray can. He sat up and
gave him a once over quick spray of the stuff, then tossed it
back in the compartment and shut it tight just as Amilia was
coming back to the truck. He sat back up, straightening in his
seat and pulling his seat belt back over him.

She walked over to his SUV, clutch in jand and shawl wrapped
around her shoulders. She was nervous, wondering if perhaps she
was getting her hopes up for nothing, but she tried to ignore
that. She grabbed the door and opened to get in.

He put the truck in gear as she settled in, and headed down the
street, setting off for the restaurant. He didn't say much for
very long, but then finally glanced over at her when he stopped
at a red light.
"You look pretty." he said quietly.

She felt her cheeks warm with a blush and she tucked her hair
behind her ear shyly. "Thank you," she murmured. "I like your
sweater. It brings out your eyes, makes you even more handsome."
